Wonder Twin Power Activate!

WHO: Dave Strider, Rose Lalonde, and everyone else
TONE: Twins being twins, so humor
RATING: G, M for Dave's mouth
WHEN: 6/13/13
WHERE: Everywhere
WHAT: Dave and Rose are switching places for the day, since they haven't yet done the Twin Thing.
STATUS: Ongoing

The troll twins are loose in the castle. They've switched everything from their clothes to their hairstyles to even their eye colors, thanks to colored contacts. Dave has even temporarily parted with his sunglasses for the sake of the illusion. The fact that they never needed to resort to a polyjuice potion is rather scary.

Have fun, Hogwarts!

Of course you do.

[She dabs her mouth clean with her napkin before moving to her feet.] I already have everything needed in my bag. I'm sure that you must be looking forward to seeing such wondrous contexts inside. I carry a girl's dream in here after all.

Fun is sure to be had, in the form of one (and only) older brother. Dirk is on his way somewhere or another. Probably the quidditch pitch, considering the broom he has balanced over one shoulder. It doesn't matter that the season is over, with Gryffindor winning. With exams out of the way, and games done, it's a good way to have fun without interrupting anyone doing something important.

It doesn't mean he doesn't have time to nod hello to his little siblings when they pass him in the hall, though.

He shrugs, making the broom raise and dip a little. "I could be racing the entire world, for all you care. Or making a concentrated effort to see how close I can get to breaking my own spine. Care to watch, dear sister?" So far, so good. Dirk doesn't seem to expect a thing.

Wait, Dirk. Why would you just pass her by. She is offended, except not really. But she approaches Dirk briskly, grin on her face. "Looks like someone ain't waiting very long to get back out there. Head start for the next year?" Why does everyone here but her enjoy Quidditch? She might have to try and immerse herself in it just because everyone she knows seems to like it.

Dirk doesn't mind being approached by (who he thinks is) his little brother, but something seems off. Or, not something. The smile. Dave is just as much a fan of the pokerface as Dirk and Bro, so a grin like that makes him automatically assume something is up. "I can occasionally do something without it being part of an ongoing quest to be better, faster, and stronger. You want to come with?"

Of course Dirk asks her if she wants to play. Fuck you guys and your Quidditch. Seriously. "Naw. I was thinking of messing with Lalonde. End of school and all and I can't just let her get away clean. John would be disappointed in me if she didn't succumb to at least one prank. I can already hear him weeping tears of joy at how thoughtful I am."

"So I'm being recruited." It's not a large leap of logic, in his opinion. "Just remember she can and will get you back, lil bro."

"Not unless I pin it on someone else." Although John isn't here to take the fall in the supposed pranking of herself. "There's got to be some dweeb who I can pin the blame on and get off free as a bird."

"As long as you don't pin it on me, since I'll hunt you down and put smuppets in your bed." He's serious on that threat. Because it's an effective one, for Dave.

Rose would laugh, but she'll have to mentally chuckle. Life is hard when you're under disguise. "Pretty sure I rather drop the blame on someone that I don't pretty much see every waking second of my life with."

Life is truly hard when you're pretending to be a Strider who doesn't laugh. Of course, she could, but then Dirk would know something is up. Nevertheless, Dirk rolls his eyes. "Not that much. World would've exploded from cool long ago if that were the case, bro."
stubbornskeptic: (Oooh!)

either/both is good :3

After Bro's little lecture regarding giving quidditch a real, proper try, Jane was practicing her flying. She was not terribly good, yet, but as she walked back into the castle she couldn't help but smile a little at the speed she'd managed that day. She was sweaty and tired and maybe a little dizzy, but it all felt good.

She hadn't felt this sort of good in a while.

So when she spotted one of her friends in the hall on her way back in, she couldn't help but grin brightly and give a little wave with the end of her broomstick.

Im sorry this is superrrr late

[personal profile] seeringlight 2013-07-12 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Rose nodded her head in response. No dainty hellos or how dos this time. No, she was Dave Strider now. Coolkid and had to be nonchalant. "Sup, Jane. You look like Christmas came early. Something good happen out at the pitch?" You should be proud of Rose. She read up on Quidditch just so she could extend her knowledge on proper vocabulary!
stubbornskeptic: (Hoo hoo!)

no worries :3

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-07-12 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Jane shrugged a little, beaming brightly. "Not in particular, really. I was just practicing my flying a bit and, well. I dunno, I guess I just feel peachy keen!"

It was, unsurprisingly, a nice feeling. Being content with herself. Not even happy, just. Not so frustrated or angry or sad about things. It had been a while. She was rather glad the angsty feelings were more or less on their way!

"I've been a little down in the dumpies lately, so I guess I'm just extra giddy at being in a good mood today, hoo hoo!"

[personal profile] seeringlight 2013-07-16 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Down?" Oh no. That makes her a tad worrisome as to what or who might have caused it. But shit, she will have to work Strider charm instead of her usual Lalonde nosiness. Life is hard when you have friends. "Someone giving you shit?" Does she got to hex a bitch?
stubbornskeptic: (Giggling)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-07-16 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Jane snorts, shaking her head. "Oh, no, it's not quite like that. It's just the typical teenage angsty sort of things. Insecurity. Crushes." She waves a hand. "You know, being extra dramatic about things that only matter for a day or two in the grand scheme of a lifetime."

Even if they still seem to hurt like they'll never stop.

"The point is, I've been feeling better and that?" She gestures back at the Quidditch pitch, generally. "That really helped, hoo hoo."

"Oh. Is some asshole breaking your heart than? Shit, I can't see why they would though. You're pretty damn great." She folds her arms over her chest with a huff. "I guess we kind of do that though. Freak over stupid shit. Laugh about it later."

"I'm glad you're in a better mood though. Honest."
stubbornskeptic: (What was that?)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-07-31 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Jane lets out an awkward huff of a laugh. Yeah, some asshole. Just her two best friends, that's all. One of which is your older brother. No sweat.

"Thank you. It feels rather nice. I fully endorse this strategy should you ever find yourself stranded in the land of the dumps." She hoists the broom up onto her shoulder once again and smiles. "And you can come and talk to me about it, too. Nobody likes to feel alone during those times."

Which she more or less has. Not that she's exactly gone seeking any help, of course. She wouldn't want to give anybody that trouble. She's just ignoring the hypocrisy of offering support, is all.

"I'll take you up on that. But only if you do the same. Can't exactly just dump some pretty deep shit on you and then not compensate in anyway."

Not that Rose would usually ever talk to anyone. She doesn't believe in that kind of kindness. She is too paranoid. "I'm sure that you have those days where you don't want to be alone either."
stubbornskeptic: (Gosh and golly)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-08-04 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Jane lets her eyes drop and shift away. "Yes, well. My troubles are juvenile, really. Outside the attempts on my life, that is." She pauses, then adds: "And I'm probably the cause of it all anyway."

It's true. Nothing with Dirk would've been awkward if she'd kept it to herself, really. And Rose's relationship with Jake was hardly her business, although her own relationship with Jake was. And that one was suffering. Because of Jane's issues.

She clears her throat and shakes her head a little, as if the negativity will fly out like it did when she was on the broom. "I, ah, I do appreciate your offer, of course. You're a very sweet young man. Possibly too sweet, to be honest." After all, she did sort of flash him.
