WHAT: Canon selves event! A seance gone awry has had its effect on the school, bringing about mental and physical changes to students and staff alike! Full details of the combinations of effects can be found here.
STATUS: Ongoing! Use whichever style you like.

[Spring brings change, but that change isn't always a good thing! Whether your character has changed entirely into their canon self, or only in part, please keep in mind that whatever they know/learn of their original canon during this event will be unable to be clearly recalled - disappearing with their past self - when the event is over. This is to avoid fourth-walling after the conclusion of the event.

Please also keep in mind that some people will not want to fourth-wall during the event! Make sure it's alright with the other player before you decide to do that. Above all, though, have fun!]

[He's not a fish? Whoops. He might have to clarify that with the boat that's speeding its way closer and closer to his location in the lake. Leading the charge is Wesley, but while the face is the same, nothing can be said about his mind. For one, he's got a net, hastily made with whatever rope he could find around Hogwarts, and it looks like he's set on making Murdoc his catch of the day.]

[The boat speeding toward Murdoc isn't hard to miss, nor is that net in Wesley's arms, for that matter. He widens his eyes, sputtering at a loss for words and waving his arms in a 'please don't catch me, I'm not a fish' manner.

...Which is difficult to convey. So he'll call out.]

If you put me in a net the next year will be very awkward, professor!

[papatiger]

[He can't hide the look of shock on his face when Murdoc speaks to him. He actually halts his advance, his net in his hands and all ready to be thrown and used as a snare, to stare at Murdoc for two seconds.

And then he throws the net and shouts at him.]

Demon fish! Prepare to die!

[shellfishlovver]

[Murdoc is hoping that pause is one of realisation and that he will put the net down and cease the assualt.

Nope.

He can't dodge the net in time, so it manages to drape over him dramatically. He struggles, but the damn thing is caught in his horns. As cool as they look, they're terribly impractical.

In desperation, he's going to scream up at Wesley in his loudest voice.]

YOU'RE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE, SIR. I'M A PROFESSOR TOO, I WORK HERE. [A pause.] I HAVE SONS? [And if that doesn't work he supposes he could say he's a magical fish who grants wishes.]

[papatiger]

It would stand to reason that a school built for the sole purpose of spreading sorcery would have a demon as it's teacher.

[But Murdoc played the right move: the son card always gets to Sun Jian. He still regards him with a wary eye, but he pulls out a knife and aims it at the captured troll.]

Why are you in the water? Do you seek more human prey to feed your spawn?

[shellfishlovver]

I'm not a demon, sir. I'm not generally like this at all.

[He tugs at the net, only to drop what he's doing and duck away from the knife, covering his face with his hands.]

Absolutely not! I only wanted to go for a swim, not...[Eugh.] eat people. That sounds vile.

[papatiger]

So you too have fallen under an enchantment?

I feel that I too have changed. My body is not as strong as it should be.

[Now that the situation's somewhat cleared up, it's just a matter of seconds for Sun Jian to cut Murdoc free of the ropes and offer him a hand up onto his boat.]

Forgive me my manners; one does not find demons often, nor does one stumble onto a man transformed into one.

[shellfishlovver]

Somethin' like that, yes. [He shrugs a little, which probably seems an odd thing for a demon fish to be doing.]

As I said, I'm generally a human. [He frowns at the constant implication that he's a demon, but he happily takes the hand and climbs .] Not to worry, I'm certain I'd have taken similar actions in your position.
