Tavros sits alone in an out of the way place, curled up in the inlay of a large window. He leans his head against the glass and watches all the nothing going on in the air around the school. One hand is pulled into his robe where he has a pocket spelled to keep the baby snake he stole from the egg he hatched with Gamzee. It's likely the only good thing to come out of that holiday, but it feels like he ended up trading his best friend for it.

Never you mind that badgers eat snakes. He'll just avoid that topic for the time being.

"I, uh... wouldn't go that far." The kiss had him chewing on his lip again though, and he tilts his head up so he could peer up at Gamzee again. He wanted a real kiss again, and he's trying to muster up the courage to actually do it, but he ends up almost staring.

Gamzee, luckily, is pretty ignorant on the ways of the animal kingdom. Or maybe not luckily, depending on how much Tavros would like an eyebrow-waggling joke about snakes getting swallowed by badgers.

"Yeah, but I would, and you can't be playing yourself down to our wriggler baby," the Slytherin explains to his friend matter-of-factly. He looks down again when Tavros looks up, blinking, eyebrows raised and a puzzled half-smile on his face. For all that they spent a week attached at the lips, Gamzee's not used to the Hufflepuff wanting kisses from him, and the hint in the way the smaller boy's face is upturned just sails right over his head.

It's bound to happen someday.

"I-I'm not?" He is, but to him he doesn't see it that way. To him it's just stating a fact that is, even if he has his facts all wrong.

He bit at his already raw lip again. Part of him actually missed the spell now. It had all been so easy then, why is it so different now if Gamzee still wants him?

The crippling self doubt probably has something to do with it.

In the end he finally just leans up, but it's less of a kiss and more a timid, unsure nuzzle against the other boy's jaw.

The taller boy lets out a surprised breath, and his eyes half close, his skin tingling where Tavros nuzzles him. His arm tightens around the Hufflepuff's shoulders, and then he tips his head to the side. It's a little awkward, but he finds the other boy's lips after a moment, and kisses him.

For real, this time, he thinks, and somehow, despite the clumsiness of it, it makes this one of the most intensely sweet kisses he's ever had.

There's a faint moment where he freezes, but then he curls the hand that's cradling slick closer to his chest and he turns enough to make the kiss a bit easier. His heart is pounding and it makes him light headed in a very good way. It doesn't matter that it wasn't the perfect, romantic movie kiss everyone hopes for. It's better than that.

It's real,

They've done more than kiss before. There was some actual, honest-to-god fooling around when under the influence of the potion, though no clothes every really came off. But Gamzee considers this all a kind of re-set, a do-over, and he wants to make sure he does it right. So instead of just shoving his tongue in Tavros's mouth the way he'd gotten used to doing whenever he had the opportunity, he keeps the kiss relatively slobber free. Just sweet and soft, and then he pulls back a little, biting his lower lip.

It's hard not to think back on everything they'd done, and part of him was worried that Gamzee would think differently of him now since he was so ready to practically jump into bed with him if he'd just asked.

That kiss seems to have assuaged that fear, and it just makes the grip of his arm around the larger boy that much tighter. His heart is pounding so hard and he watches Gamzee's face with a look of awe and surprise.

There's a moment where he looks like he might start crying again, but instead he just curls up against Gamzee's chest, nuzzling up under his chin to hide his face.

"You okay?" Gamzee asks, hoping he hasn't done something wrong - he doesn't want Tavros crying! He presses his nose and mouth into the smaller boy's hair again, tightening his arms around him.

"Y-yeah, I think. It's just... uhm.." He held his breath for a moment, then finally looks up at Gamzee again, voice soft. "Is.. uh... Is it for real now?"

"Oh!" Gamzee says, and then he nods slowly.

"If you're wanting it to be, yeah, I think so. Uh. So, you want to be my boyfriend?" The Slytherin realizes as he says it that he never even asked last time, under the influence of the potion, he'd just assumed. This felt better somehow, to make it all official-like.

"I do." He says softly, his smile growing into something big and silly before he could stop it. It really does feel better this way, without that sense of 'what if' hanging over them both.

"I do very much."

"That," Gamzee pronounces seriously, "Is a motherfuckin' miracle."

And that's precisely how it feels - something amazing and beautiful and not quite real. He runs the backs of his fingers along Tavros's cheek and then leans in to kiss him again, feeling his heart thumping against the cage of his ribs surprisingly gently.

Tavros falls into the kiss easily this time, reaching up to cup Gamzee's face with both of his hands. After resigning himself to practically being this unlovable, unwanted, walking freak of nature this really does feel like a miracle. It scares him too, because he wouldn't know what to do with himself if Gamzee ever left him. That only means that he'll be willing to do anything in his power to keep that from happening.

The kiss is a little deeper this time - Gamzee isn't going to jump the other boy and start sticking his hand down Tavros's pants (the way he'd practically been doing before), but he does think, if they're real boyfriends now, that it's probably okay to use some tongue, even if copping a feel still isn't kosher yet.

Tavros probably would have let him if he'd tried, willing to do anything to keep the other boy happy, even if he isn' ready for it. He hasn't actually thought that far yet anyway, too caught up in the fact that this was really happening for real.. The tongue doesn't bother him at all though, even if he does gasp a bit in surprise. He falls back into it easily enough, already having figured out at least a little of what Gamzee likes.

After a little bit of not-quite tonsil hockey, Gamzee pulls back, and then suddenly his eyes get wide as a thought strikes him. "Shit! I need to get you something, like a ring or a badge or ... something."

He blinks owlishly up at Gamzee, then laughs a bit, finally breaking out into one of those wide, silly grins of his. "Haha, like.. a scouting merit badge?"

The Slytherin looks confused. "Oh, shit, I ain't got the knowing of any of that Boy Scouting shit, I don't think I ever been camping or tied no fancy knots. No, no, like to put on your jacket! Something nice. Maybe them kind of with enamel, like of an animal or something ... except, I dunno, ain't nobody gonna know that's from me. Maybe a clown!"

"I used to be a scout... before my accident." His ma even had his little uniform and merit badges still. Tavros just smiles, then pushes up to give Gamzee a quick, shy kiss to his cheek before settling down again while holding Slick up against his chest.

"I think a clown, would be perfect for you to have as a symbol."

Gamzee shifted and settled so that Tavros could rest his whole back against the taller boy, and he could loop his arms around the Hufflepuff's shoulders. "What should I wear what's yours, too?"

"Uhm... I don't know.." He settles comfortably against the taller boy, chest still tight but for completely different reasons. "M-maybe... Peter Pan?"

"Oh, hell yeah!" Gamzee exclaims, pleased with the idea. "That green zippy motherfucker is perfect!"

He squeezes his arms around Tavros. "We can go looking for something next Hogsmeade weekend. Or we could make 'em, except I ain't no good at Transfig."

"I dont know, how good I'd be.. but I can try." He tilts his head back so he could smile up at Gamzee. "Or maybe, when we go home for Easter we can find something too, if I fail at it. Which is a likely occurrence, to have happen."

"You'd still be better at it than me," Gamzee says, grinning back. "I bet we could make some crazy-ass shit if we tried it together. Like stuff so miraculous ain't nobody even knowing what it was."

Which reminds him! He'd been intending to ask about this even before they were officially together, but it seems even more important now. "So, uh ... you want to maybe visit a little over the Easter hols?"

"Haha, yeah! We should try."

Tav's smile didn't waver one bit, but he seemed to perk up a bit at the question. "I, uh... was actually hoping that maybe, you would want to come stay with me again. I mean, if that is something you would like to do."
