Despite everything, when Dirk says that he can't help but smile, even if he still hurts mentally- and physically, in a way. Because he feels tired and way older than he actually is. He can't deny that what he said was straight out of a romance novel, though. He doesn't say anything for the moment, instead he just keeps holding Dirk. It doesn't matter that his shirt is getting wet, or that they're both having a really stupid moment in front of a pub full of strangers. What matters is the fact they are having this moment. Hopefully after it's over, things will be better between them. He can only hope.

When Dirk loosens his grip, Bro pulls away and takes in a deep breath, reaching up to wipe at his eyes. He feels better after that- better than he ever could've expected. Clearly hugs are a thing they need to do more often, though maybe without the crying involved. Finally, in response to Dirk's previous statement, he responds with, "I wish I knew how to quit you."
