New Year Assemble!

WHAT: Thor wanted their friends together, Tony didn't want to be alone bringing in the New Year.

On New Years Eve, Jarvis has the living room set up for guests with chairs and pillows about with a table off to one side with various chips, soft drinks, and sweets. Music playing from a stereo in the corner.

Come dinner time the dinning room table is full of food and drink to enjoy.

Depending on when people show up, Tony can be found either in the garage messing with his kit car, or in the living room, eyeing off the snacks.

My homework is sharp and clear, so really. it's still me.

I've never write on my arms. Wait you said this was protection, now it's a warning?

What makes you think that I care about the standard of your homework? It is not you! It is irrelevant.

Oh! Of course! You are perfect. Silly me! [He scrubs at his face with his hand.] You suck the fun out of everything, Stark.

[arrogantalloy]

[Tony actually can't help but chuckle at Thor's frustration.]

Sometimes. You're too easy.

[brothor]

Take the acorn off and say it again.

[He raises a challenging eyebrow.]

[arrogantalloy]

Wait, you're really not going to hit me while I'm wearing it?

[He looks almost confused by this.]

[brothor]

For a genuis you are terrible at understanding simple concepts, Stark! I have explained this to you several times, why is it that you do not understand?

[arrogantalloy]

No, no. I get it. I just didn't know how strong a talisman could be to people.

[brothor]

I forsee you testing its limits within the near future. [A flat look.] Perhaps I will have to have someone else punch you.

[arrogantalloy]

[Gives him an amused look.]

Yeah, but it won't on purpose. So I don't think you're going to have to worry about employing a personal Tony puncher.

[brothor]

I do not trust you, unfortunately. We shall see how that turns out, I imagine. For now, I am quite content. [He pets his candy dispenser.]

[arrogantalloy]

Wow, there's a symbol of friendship. And you gave me an acorn too. [He shakes his head in mock sadness. Then grins at Thor patting the dispenser.] You know, I'm glad you're content with it, really.

[brothor]

I never said we were friends. [He shrugs lazily.] We are in alliance.

I'm glad you are glad, it seems so very sincere!

[arrogantalloy]

Wow, give a man an acorn and you're still only an alliance, and not friends? Harsh.

It seems sincere because it is. It happens from time to time.

[brothor]

Why do you desire my friendship when you do so little to properly encourage it beyond throwing money at me! You are a fool!

[arrogantalloy]

Throwing money? I don't throw money at you. And I'm not a fool. And you have a standing invite to my house, like everyone else does, and. well I talk to you about things. That's what friends do, right?

[Tony tries not to look as confused as he is, because really he's had the money comments directed at him before and he still doesn't understand quite what's wrong with that.]

[brothor]

You never seemed particularly interested in being close companions before. [He shrugs, not trying to hide his confusion.] I had no idea you held me in a high regard at all.

[arrogantalloy]

Okay, sure. After first you were only around because you were Steve's friend. But hey, it's one of those things, you hang out with someone long enough you start to like them. Well, except Herbert. He doesn't count though.

[Tony shrugs.]

Well. Now you do. Have an idea, that is.

[Nope, Tony's not getting awkward about this.]

[brothor]

[Thor squints at that. In fact. He very nearly rejects it in order to make the very easy jab and imply that he hasn't come to like Stark. But. Now seems like a time to be sincere, and Thor is always sincere when the time is right!]

If you would like to be close companions, I wouldn't mind it either. [He half smiles, holding out a hand to shake.] Are we what they call 'bros'?

[arrogantalloy]

[Chuckling, Tony takes the hand and shakes it, firmly. But still weakly compared to what Thor could come up with.]

Yeah, we're Bros.

[brothor]

Most good. [He beams, pulling his hand away to clap Tony on the shoulder before stepping toward the others.] We'd best be social now.

[arrogantalloy]

[Tony fights the urge to wince at this, and just manages to look uncomfortable, then grins at him.]

Yeah, sounds like a good idea.

[brothor]

[Thor shrugs enthusiastically at him and heads off to flop on the couch, and in that moment he swore they were infinite.]
