New Year Assemble!

WHAT: Thor wanted their friends together, Tony didn't want to be alone bringing in the New Year.

On New Years Eve, Jarvis has the living room set up for guests with chairs and pillows about with a table off to one side with various chips, soft drinks, and sweets. Music playing from a stereo in the corner.

Come dinner time the dinning room table is full of food and drink to enjoy.

Depending on when people show up, Tony can be found either in the garage messing with his kit car, or in the living room, eyeing off the snacks.

If you don't like them, I can take them back and get you something else? I just thought it might be good? But I guess I didn't, huh? Yeah I'll just take them back, find you something else.

[He starts to reach for the box.]

[Shakes head and hugs box to himself.]

Really? You actually do like it? But you're, quiet...

I didn't expect you to be so... [Thinks on a word.] ... Thoughtful. Or thorough. I mean, I know you can be considerate but I wasn't expecting this much.

[Smiles a bit when he touches the yoga mat.] Guess I need to take up yoga then?

It's Christmas, that's the time to be thoughtful, isn't it?

[Grins and shifts a little closer.]

Well you don't have to take it up. I mean when I saw it I just thought of you sitting cross legged hands on your knees, chanting 'inner peace'. Really it's your call.

I guess I can do some meditation on it at least.

[Ducks head and smiles up at him.]

[Looks at the smile for a moment, and feels his heart skip.]

Uh... Yeah... No, no problem.

[After a thoughtful lick of his lips, he leans in and kisses him.]

[Stiffens and freezes because WHAT IS GOING ON HOW IS HE MEANT TO REACT TO THIS WHAT WHAT WHAT-]

[Can feel him go stiff then pulls away.]

I shouldn't have done that...

[Starting to feel bad that he keeps forcing himself on Bruce, even though he keeps claiming not to be interested in guys. So, why does he keep doing this to Bruce then?]

[Swallows hard and glances up at the ceiling over them.] I... don't see any mistletoe. So why did you...? [SO RED IT BURNS.]

[arrogantalloy]

Well, you were really... And you like the present... And...

[He runs his hand through his hair, clearly trying to figure out why he did it. Then adds hastily.]

It wasn't a joke, or a dare. It really wasn't any of that, That I'm sure of.

[greenmoonrising]

Uh... thanks... I guess...? [Staring.]

[arrogantalloy]

A-Anytime?

[Feels awkward about the staring so stands up, and away from the blanket. Pacing a little, worrying at his lip, glancing at Bruce with each pace.]

[Stares. Smiles a bit awkwardly.]

Uh... spur of the moment thing?

[arrogantalloy]

Yeah. Spur of the moment. I was caught up in the moment because of how you looked and ... I think I hear, uh, Natasha...

[He fidgets for a moment then leaves. a few moments later he pops his head back in.]

Living room... At least ten minutes before midnight... Or, uh, people might come looking for you...

[Then he disappears again.]

[Stares after and sits there with red red cheeks that have nothing to do with the cold. Stares down at box again and lets himself indulge in a small smile before putting the lid back on.

Wanders into room later to get Tony's carefully wrapped sizeable toolbox made from ebony, ivory, rosewood, and mother-of-pearl. It's got Tony's name engraved on the top and is spelled to only open to his hands.

He leaves it in Tony's room before joining the others for the midnight countdown.]

[He leans against the table as he watches Thor head to the presents.]

Never really been one to joke about presents.

[In side the smaller box, Thor will find several containers of M&M's in all the flavours. In the second box is a large and sturdy hands free candy dispenser.]

You know how I went with Clint because I owed him? Let's just say it got complicated.

[She picks up the boxes with her name on the tag and goes back to sit on the couch again.]

Oh? Did it now?

[He nudges her arm with his elbow when she sits back down next to him again.]

So, that would be why he asked if you were going then didn't show up tonight?

Yes to both. Everything was going fine and then he opened his big mouth and told me that he likes me.

[She starts ripping off the paper because presents are meant to be opened that way.]

[He chuckles at her.]

He followed you like a puppy, how were you even surprised?

[He leans back a bit just so he can watch her open up what he got her.]

Because I thought he had better things on his mind, like aiming at targets. I thought I heard him wrong, apparently not.

[She opens the hat box first and let's out a happy cry.]

You certainly have taste, let me tell you that.

[arrogantalloy]

He's a boy, you're a girl. He was aiming for a target alright.

[He grins at her cry.]

I've always been a man of taste.

A thriller? Fantastic! I love movies with a good scare to them! [Even if it means he'll be up all night for weeks guarding the door.] What have I missed?

[Thor shoots Tony a confused stare before working his way through the presents. With each one he opens, he lets out a yell of surprise. He's clearly very pleased with them, if not a little confused.

He grins at Tony before finally choosing not to be polite.]
