For Yule Ball Prince... We have Thor Odinson, a young man who knows the feel of a bludger to the chest.
For Yule Ball Princess... We have Rose Lalonde, the young lady responsible for our Halloween masquerade tea party.
For Yule Ball King... We have Arthur Kirkland, who's eyebrows look rather dashing this evening.
For Yule Ball Queen... We have Molly Hooper, who is a very talented artist. I've yet to see a more realistic cat rendering.
Fear not Ravenclaw, you have the diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw as your crown.

Good on you for winning, Snazzy-brows~
[Aaand it's only after a moment or two of letting his voice sink in that he leans forward and gives Arthur a hug from behind. Hopefully not to his own detriment. He's just trying to be cute okay? BABY STEPS.]

She is not a happy princess. She is wearing a rather lavish dressrobe, sent to her by her mother for being nominated.
If she could hex everyone who voted for her, she would. But whoever nominated her gets a special place in hell when she's through with them. But, that's something she'll just think about and not actually do. "You got to be bloody kidding me."

VICTORY DANCE
Needless to say, he's pretty damn excited and determined to get people dancing.]

Guy could use some cake or spiked punch, honestly.]

He lets the dance get underway a little, acting as if he's watching the kids and making sure nothing happens. He's honestly not taking in a damn thing, though. He's just biding his time, waiting until it feels right, and trying not to let the nervousness get to him too much. Finally, though, he can't really take it much longer and so he decides it's time to put shit into action.
Bro makes his way through the crowd and sidles up to Murdoc, leaning against the wall next to him.]
Hey, Flower.
[And he can get away with his little reference now, because, y'know. Wallflower. Get it? Yes. He's a genius. Also somewhat of an asshole, because you're now a skunk, Murdoc.]
Having fun?
[Deja vu. This reminds him of a certain bonfire night last month, right down to the broody expression on Murdoc's face. Then again, he's always wearing a broody expression, so not much has changed in that regard.]

When Dirk finally takes initiative and approaches, he smiles over at him. However, as soon as he hears the nickname, his face crinkles with confusion and becomes something more of a 'are you fucking kidding me?' look.]
Flower, Dirk? [He can't even formulate a sentence.] Why?
[He shakes his head, rolling his eyes and turning to scan the crowd again.] I didn't think I was meant to have fun.

After a deep breath, he's able to straighten his posture and look calm enough. Mind over matter, right? They'd agreed to meet exactly at this spot, and although she isn't late, the minutes could not possibly fly by any slower for him. Vanity compels him to wish there were a mirror to check his hair - he's fairly sure there's enough pomade in it to keep it from falling flat, but he can never be sure. He looks down at his clothing -- god, why didn't it occur to me I'm wearing her colors, that's unbelievably patronizing and obvious and all of my housemates will mock me for not realizing it - I wanted to look regal, not--
Calm. Nothing but calm. It's amazing what oxygen can do when one remembers to utilize it.
For now, he waits.]

She's sitting alone at one of the tables with a small drink, watching the students and other staff dancing with a soft expression on her face. There are things on her mind, but nothing that can't be fixed with some good conversation.]

Then he spots Dolores.
He hadn't been expecting to see her here, as she seldom made herself known at these things. He hasn't really spoken to her since waking up in her bed with no memory of how he got there and some rather tidy bite marks in his neck, but he's no longer an awkward teenage boy, or even a young man uncertain how to handle certain things. Dolores is his friend, and he has precious few of those, and besides, she looks lovely.
He strides across the floor to her, sweeps a silent bow before her table, and then holds out his hand to her in clear invitation.]

The nurse spots Rhys as he makes his way across the room and seems to anticipate that his attention is on her, straightening a little in her seat. A quiet chuckle escapes her when he offers his hand, and she slips her own into it, getting to her feet.
She's dwarfed by his height, and yet doesn't seem at all intimidated by it.]
Rhys. You are looking very handsome this evening.

Most of his unease is because the castle has played fast and loose with his existence over the last month. Even worse, he can't remember too many details about any of it. He half expects something else to go wrong today.
That said, he has some memories - vague ones, like chasing shadows - of when his future self took his place here. He remembers nothing besides the fact that he was married. So, that's a good sign. Who knows? He could even meet the future Mrs. Watson here at the ball.]

The recent events with mostly Hogwarts style mischief had played rather uneasily at his..well, not heart--he didn't have one. But it had hurt to have John dead in a way that parchment cuts didn't. And it had made him almost pleasantly numb in an uncertain capacity to have dream like memories of a surprisingly domestic future. It was all strange but something about the coming year end at least signaled the end of it all. He hoped.
Walking tall and proud in his best robes, Sherlock searched for John and paced quickly to him, doing his best to float and not bounce his way over the stone. It felt like ages since he'd properly been in John's company. His eagerness to reacquaint himself was almost surprising.]
It almost seems like it should be outside favorable odds we both should meet again.

Yeah, no kidding. Especially with us being normal. ... well, what we consider normal anyway, which I admit might be stretching the definition a bit. Not altered by the castle, at any rate.
You're dressed very snazzy for someone who mostly wants to observe others.
