3houseswatson: (BBC - here to fulfill the sass quota)

I wish I could say the bed's too short... but it's not.

And I'm not really used to sleeping alone anymore. Even if you sometimes knee me in the kidneys in your sleep or I wake up with you half on top of me like an indecisive cat, I like it more than the alternative.

Do you think we have to stay in our old rooms?
not_a_hero: (Uh huh)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
John, I'm of half a mind to suggest we remove the rings at this juncture. Murdering Jim Moriarty aside, there are several good reasons not to influence the past. I can hardly invite you up to my bed and expect the good ole' boys of Ravenclaw to respect the privacy of drawn bed curtains.
3houseswatson: (BBC - >:C)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
[John rolls his eyes and makes a sour face.]

Stay in Ravenclaw? Oh no. God, no. No. I've made it this far without putting myself at risk for horrible pranks by sleeping in the same room as Tony Stark and I'm not about to break that perfect record.

I meant staying in my room, but sounds like you'd rather not. Besides, I hadn't considered that could mess around with things.
not_a_hero: ([giggle])

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Tony's an old man for now. Most I imagine he'd be up to is handcuffing one of us to the bed with a note reading "You're welcome" left stuck to the headboard.

But not everyone has been affected. People witnessing us will be empowered with knowledge they shouldn't be privy to. We have to be responsible.
3houseswatson: (BBC - We can't giggle this is buckingham)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. He could've become even worse as he got on in years. Like very old, very smelly cheese. The longer he's lived, the further he'd have to go to one-up himself in his own pranks.

Yeah, you're right. I hadn't really considered any of that. It just seems odd for adults to have to sleep in kids' dorms... it's weird thinking that they're still technically our rooms.

[He gives Sherlock a small nudge with his elbow.] But look at this. You were the one talking common sense this time.
not_a_hero: (A good day to be me)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
There had to be some reason you married me. Taking turns with sensible thought is part of the package deal.
3houseswatson: (BBC - Jumper approves!)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's about time I've got a reason to have tied the knot with you. Here I thought I'd go my whole life, up until I'm on my deathbed, thinking, "The hell was that about?" [He gives Sherlock a teasing smirk.]
not_a_hero: (Are you thinking what I'm thinking?)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
If you do, it will be caused by senile dementia. I'll make sure someone is there to read to you those ghastly, romanticized stories you write about my cases. Should sort things out.
3houseswatson: (BBC - See through the brilliance)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Someone"? [He scoffs.] You can read them to me. Even old and addled, I'd get immeasurable joy out of watching you wince over my prose.
not_a_hero: (Grin)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods and smiles. He very much doubts he will be the one to outlive the other--war not withstanding.]

Perhaps for the next anniversary I'll get you writing lessons as well as typing ones.
3houseswatson: (BBC - Can't look at you right now)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Do that and I definitely won't get you a reactor core for your gift. You'd get the joy of unwrapping a pair of plain white socks. Really, really starchy ones at that.

Also it is completely unfair that I was raised around computers but you still type better than I do.
not_a_hero: (Oh well)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
We've also had a brain for near the same amount of time and yet I use mine more efficiently. Don't start comparing skill sets on a timeline. You don't come out very well.
3houseswatson: (BBC - So uh. How you doin'.)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[John purses his lips and nods.]

How many planets are in the solar system, Sherlock?
not_a_hero: (And that made sense at the time?)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Scowl.]

Not that again.
3houseswatson: (BBC - Come again?)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, it's something primary school kids sing songs about. Yet not in such an efficient and oh-so unparalleled brain.
not_a_hero: (I am superior)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You've made your point.
3houseswatson: (BBC - Jumper approves!)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[John smirks a little and he shrugs his shoulders a bit, looking just a teensy bit smug. It's a fond and loving smug, though.]

Good. Suppose my skill in taking you down a peg has become finely honed with loads of practice.
not_a_hero: (A good day to be me)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sherlock rolls his eyes and takes his hand but stops after a minute because it wouldn't do to be seen and gives it a squeeze before letting go.]

You're very skilled. Just not at typing.
3houseswatson: (BBC - I wonder why)

[personal profile] 3houseswatson 2012-12-26 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[John basks in the brief feeling of Sherlock's hand in his own calloused one, and misses it when it lets go, even though he understands why.]

Well, maybe if the people who make keyboards had put the letters in the right alphabetical order, I wouldn't have to hunt around for each letter.
not_a_hero: (Pull the other one)

[personal profile] not_a_hero 2012-12-26 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
After all those pathetic pick up lines someone finally puts 'u' and 'i' together and you of all people are annoyed. There is just no pleasing some people.
