It's not bad. Some of the other stories I've read from the same author are a bit better plot-wise but it's an enjoyable read-

[It takes him a second to register that the person trailing behind him has his voice. When he stops and turns to look, letting his reading glasses slip down the bridge of his nose to get a better look, the book falls from his hands.]

[Kankri just assumes that Sal wasn't expecting to see him there.]

I know I should have sent word that I would be visiting, but I just found out about the assignment yesterday. I would have arrived before any owl I sent anyway.

[He picks up Sal's book and makes sure that the pages are straight and unruffled before he holds it out to his twin.]

[He's used to seeing Kankri by now, just not when they actually look like twins. Sal doesn't take the book right away. He stares at his brother, trying to register exactly what is happening here.]

I-...yeah. Assignment?

[Words are hard.]

[Kankri takes a step closer so he's not holding the book out so far in front of him.]

Of course. From the Division. There's been reports of some unsettled ghost activity around the school, so I was sent to conduct some interviews and attempt to find out what the problem is.

[Sal hesitantly takes the book, his eyes not leaving Kankri's face.]

The Division. As in...the Ministry. [A smile twitches at the corner of his mouth.] You work for the Ministry. Right, of course. [The smile train has passed the station and isn't stopping any time soon.]

[Kankri hesitates when Sal takes the book, but maintains the eye contact and lets his arm fall back to his side.]

Yes. The Spirit Division. Sal, are you feverish?

The Spirit Division? [He lets out a small snort. Oh cruel irony, of course he'd work for the Spirit Division.] Sorry, no, I'm fine. I'm absolutely fine, Kan.

I'm just really, really happy to see you. [The Smile Train has had a passenger transfer to the Hug Train. And the Hug Train is making a long stop in Kankriville at Brotherly Hug station.]
