[And that's what she's convinced he's been doing, and she's annoyed at herself for not realizing it.]

I made a promise, I'm keeping it. I came here to see the so surprisingly quiet Shrieking Shack, not stalk you. I've kept my word, and stay as far away from as I could until now.

[Still not buying it, but she decides not to push the issue.]

If you were as far away as possible, you'd have left school by now.

[Oh... Well. That wasn't surprising. And not something he wanted to do. And he wouldn't. He didn't owe her that much, and the lack of any real connection between them didn't make him want to do it as a favour. But this does tell him that this conversation is pointless, so he'll just... Go away.]

[And so he turns and starts walking away.]

[At first, Marina as no intention of stopping him. But her rage since their first meeting has cooled considerably, and it's a moment or two later that she realizes that she's being a massive bitch. It's not that she cares about it or anything, but she figures he doesn't quite deserve that.

Besides, as much as she wants to deny it, she realizes she's being like her mother and that just isn't gonna fly.]

[Well... He stops. He doesn't get his hopes up or anything, but... He stops. And he turns back around.]

[She sighs.]

I don't care if you look at the damn shack.

[She's saying in her own words that you can stay. For now.]

[... Well, there's really not much to look at, but... He's not going to just walk off when she's apparently giving him a peace offering.]

Yeah.

[She doesn't know what else to say, so she just. stays quiet for a few minutes, staring at the fire. This is fucking awkward.]

It's cold, there's a fire right here. Stop standing around like a dumbass.

[Well... That was more than he expected. And it takes him a few seconds to actually process what she's offering, if only because it's so different from what she's been like all this time.

But he takes up her offer, and sits in front of her near the fire. He doesn't really say anything, mostly because he doesn't know what to say. But the fire is nice.]

So... Has anything interesting happened in there [he nods towards the shack] since you've started coming here?

[She honestly doesn't know herself why she's being so damn nice to him. Maybe it's the fact her anger has cooled and she's starting to realize she's been unnecessarily horrible to him. It just took realizing it to really put things into perspective. Not that she's ready to be buddies with him, but she's at least going to stop being so harsh.]

Nope. Whoever said it's haunted is full of shit. I just like coming here because nobody else does.

[A small, devious smile forms as she dips her head to hide it.]

[Well! This escalated quickly.]

[She doesn't answer at first, instead she moves to stand up, wand in hand. She murmurs a spell that extinguishes the fire.]

Not asking anymore. Now I'm telling. Get up, let's go.

[Maybe it's because now he's really curious. Maybe it's because he doesn't want to ruin the good streak he started with Marina. Either way, he stands up quite casually with no complaint.]

Alright. Lead the way.

[You're doing well so far, Henry. She's surprised, but not in a bad way. This definitely is a test to determine whether he's worth her time at all.

Without a word, she turns and starts heading off towards the shack.]

[And he follows just as wordlessly, wand in hand as well.]

I don't suppose there's anything on the back either, is there?

[She doesn't reply until they get right up to the shack, and then she shakes her head.]

Nope, it's sealed up tight. Only way we're getting in is by magic.

[She points her wand at the wall, going through a list of spells in her head before settling on the perfect one. At least, in her opinion anyway.]

[Yeah, Marina, he's really happy for you, but he won't let you finish and Beyonce's video sucked.]

If you use that you'll get the attention of everyone in the village. Let me do it.

I think you're exaggerating. But fine, asshole. Go ahead, I don't even care. At least then if we get caught, it's your head on the line for vandalism.

[If that made him an asshole, he didn't know what she'd call him if he was acting like her.

Either way, he positioned himself in front of the wall, trying to think of how to do it. It was made of rock, that was something. He picked the place carefully, and with a few quick slashes, he wordlessly cast a cutting spell, cutting the wall in the rough shape of a door tall and wide enough for them to walk in one at a time. After that, a locomotion charm was enough to move the newly carved block out of the way.]

[She watches wordlessly and irritatedly as he works his magic, arms folded over her chest. When he's done, she rolls her eyes and pushes past him.]

Show off.

[That's all she says, as she steps through the little doorway he made and into the shack.]

[He just sighs, shrugs, and walks in after her. At least now that the wall has a rather large hole in it, there's light streaming in. And the sight in front of him makes say only one thing.]

... It has furniture.
