Yong Soo was nearly late for class (but, that wasn't all that new). However, today was different! He had to be there on time, early even, because it was his friend's birthday, and he had to give her the gift he'd specially picked out, just from him!

But, when he arrives, he notices she doesn't look well. So, he plops down next to her and grins. "Xiaomei! Are you okay? You look a little weird."

"Ah, Yong Soo..." It takes Xiaomei a while to regster her friend's arrival. Remembering simple things like this was paricularly troublesome today. She can't even focus. "I'm alright. Never better!"

Just a fever, she might add, but he doesn't need to know that. Yet despite her efforts to hide her illness, her flushed face says it all.

"Happy birthday!" he says cheerfully, sitting next to her. "I remembered this year!!" He starts pulling things from his bag, pawing through things to find his presents for her. "But, are you sure you're okay? 'cause, you don't look good...! If you don't feel good, then you should go back to bed..."

[naicha]

"I'm okay!" She flexes her non-existent muscles--or attempts to, anyway. "I'm strong."

Despite that, the last note of her statement falls flat and drops along with her head as she slumps over her desk. This annoying fever is getting the best of her. Maybe it is better if she goes back to bed.
