Roommates
WHO: Ludwig Beilschmidt, Gilbert Beilschmidt, Lovino Vargas
TONE: Awkward
RATING: PG-13 (To be safe?)
WHEN: Whenever it was the Gryffindors moved back into their dorms
WHERE: Gryffindor Dorms
WHAT: Ludwig tries to make (somewhat) friends with Lovino while making his loudmouth brother shut up about their secret relationship.
STATUS: Ongoing
Ludwig set his trunk down with a heavy sigh before collapsing on the bed. Finally. They were finally back in their own dorm rooms. Despite Hufflepuff being fairly nice and welcoming, it didn't quite feel like "home," he supposed. Which was more than he could say for the actual house he lived in with his brother and father.
Speaking of...Gilbert was nowhere to be seen, most likely meaning he had either gotten himself in trouble again, or was spending time with his friends. He would be back soon, though; after all he was the one upset by the temporary room adjustments for the house.
Blue eyes glanced over at the empty bed on the other side of the room, vaguely wondering who would be occupying it. The blonde didn't know very many people, and he was truly trying to rectify that this year. Maybe this would be an opportunity to make a new friend? As long as their new roommate was one who wanted to be befriended, of course. Otherwise, he would mind his own business.

He was curious to see who his new roommate would be, it was a shame his best friend wasn't in the same house as him. Because of this he always got paired up with someone new every year.
With luggage in both hands, he kicked open the door to his new room rather harshly, any hopes of him having a good roommate where thrown out the window the second he saw the tall German standing in the room. His bags dropped to the floor with a loud thud and sighed.
"So you're my roommate for the year?" he asked with a sarcastic tone, clearly not happy about the decision.

"Oh, well it seems the mystery is solved. I was just wondering who would be rooming with Gilbert and I this year." Ludwig offered a smile, trying to be civil. Maybe with this, Lovino wouldn't be as hostile towards him; however in the back of his mind, the German knew that was wishful thinking.
But...he really did want to clear the air with the boy. And Gilbert did tell him he needed to make new friends. So perhaps it was a chance for that as well, even if the prospect seemed highly unlikely.
it took me like ten tries to spell jealous right
The truth was, he actually was jealous of Ludwig. He envied the way his own brother always managed to say great things about him, but could never think of such nice things about his own brother. He envied how much of a good relationship he had with Gilbert.
Of course he'd never be able to say any of that out loud without a good deal of interaction.
Re: it took me like ten tries to spell jealous right
Scratching the back of his neck, he sighed softly, looking away. "Listen, Lovino...I am sorry this happened. I know I am far from your first choice of the possible students you could have roomed with this year. However, I would like to try to get along with you. I would..." A pause, blue eyes shifting to look the other in the eye. "I would like to patch up whatever it is that may have gotten us off on the wrong foot."
Everything he was saying was a long shot, but Ludwig was never one to give up easily. "What do you say? Do we have a truce?"
Re: it took me like ten tries to spell jealous right
'The Hufflepuff dorms was decent, but there was nothing like being back in your own house.' The albino mused to himself.
"Guess Luddy is already there unpacking. Haven't seen him since breakfast. Speaking of which, wonder who we're rooming with this year."
As he approached the door to his dorm, Gilbert hears a loud voice coming from the other side that sounded all to familiar.
"Haha shit, no way." Gilbert went inside the room and smirked at the sight of a very pissed off Italian.
"'Eyyyy, its Lovino,!" Gilbert directed at the fuming Italian across the room.
Gilbert then noticed his brother standing next to his bed.
"Oi Luddy, why didn't you tell me Lovino was going to room with us!"

He stood there awkwardly in front of Ludwig, fidgeting with his fingers on trying to come up with a proper response to give him. However he was...he didn't want to say saved but he was excused from having to give him an answer right then and there as soon as Gilbert walked in.
Lovino flinched out of annoyance the second he saw Gilbert walk into the room. He had a low tolerance for people he wasn't fond of, and people who were overly loud and obnoxious were something he did not take kindly too. He raised an eyebrow at his last remark.
"You really think any of us has any idea this was going to be our room setting?"

For a while the tension in the room was heavy, the other two besides him in the room staring each other down. Ludwig cleared his throat, taking a seat back on the bed he claimed for himself. "Gilbert, it may be best to keep it down for now. Everyone else is getting settled and I doubt the entire house wants to hear about who we're rooming with."
He really hoped that for once the albino would take a hint. Things were already off to a rocky start without his rambunctiousness, Ludwig having a feeling it could only make the situation worse.

With a "Ah, my bad," while waving apologetically at his brother, Gilbert went against his better judgement (or at least Ludwig's) and went to get closer to their new, potentially hazardous, room mate.
"But any way, hey this is great! Lovi is gonna be our new roomie!" As he approached Lovino, Gilbert gave the Italian a nonchalant smirk, all the while having what seemed like a staring contest with the other boy. Although Gilbert isn't mean-spirited, sometimes he can't help but tease others a bit. It was his way of getting to know people, even though most don't really see it that way.

He was trying hard not to get into a fight, the hell he'd get from his sister that wouldn't be worth it right now. He started to fiddle with his brand new designer luggage, it was a gift from his grandfather for entering in his last year of Hogwarts. The brand new sets of clothes on the inside were from his parents, needless to say they had spoiled him quite a bit this year.
"Now if you fucking get out of my way, I'm going to try and start setting my shit up." he said as he exchanged glances with the both of them.

With a sigh, he stepped forward, grabbing the other by his upper arm. "He has a good point, Gilbert. Getting unpacked should be our first priority, shouldn't it?" The blonde spoke in a firm voice, raising his eyebrow for Gilbert to take the hint.

"Cheh, fine fine I get it." Pulling his arm away, Gilbert once again directed his attention to the other occupant in the room. Lovino was staring both of them down while tapping his luggage impatiently. Now that Gilbert was paying more attention, he noticed how nice the other's baggage was. Money isn't everything, but growing up with so little as he and his family did had left Gilbert bitter towards those more privileged. However, that didn't mean he was so bitter that his eyes didn't wander at fancier things from time to time.
"Damn, I keep forgetting your family is loaded. Nice luggage you got there! Gift from someone?"

"Gilbert, I mean it. Don't get in a fight on our first day back in the dorms." His tone remained absolute, almost daring the elder to argue with him, though he sincerely hoped Gilbert would just listen to him this time. There would be tension if it ended here, yes, but better that than an all out brawl.

"Ok fine fine we'll go deal with our stuff and get out of your hair," Gilbert directed at Lovino. Patting his brother on the shoulder to assure him that he was done messing around, Gilbert headed over to the bed to where he already dropped his luggage on before hand.
