[She merely smiles, sweet as can be]

Nothing exciting then? No new adventures, no exploring with Nepeta? [A slight chuckle] Well it's supposed to be based on the series, isn't it? Perhaps that was all they knew, and knowing your choice in reading materials, they thought it would make a good gift. I'm sure they only have the best intentions.

...Is it as bad as Porrim's been telling me?

Well, we've just about covered every inch of the forest behind the house since I moved to England, so it's not like there's much else to explore. [He makes a face.] She keeps telling me it'll help me lose the pudge though.

...It's worse.

You should both come over sometime then. There's a beautiful creek near my house, with plenty of places to explore. [And she is a lonely girl] And while she may have been blunt, it's true that exercise is good for everyone.

...Perhaps I should be glad that Porrim threatened to burn it if I ever got a copy then.

I usually just tag along to make sure she keeps out of trouble.

[Best not to mention the Forbidden Forest escapades they've been in since first year, since Karkat remembered reading that she was a prefect now. He inclines his head in a sort-of shrug.]

You should be. I think I've seen better smut on the internet.

Well that's good of you. Nepeta... from what I know from Feferi can be easily distracted, right? It's good of you to follow your sister around like that, to make sure she doesn't get into too much trouble.

[probably best, yes. Even if she wasn't a prefect you'd get a scolding. That's dangerous!]

Ugh. Then I'm very glad I did listen. Though, it did start off as fanfiction didn't it? I suppose not much can be expected from that, rarely is there well written fanfiction on the internet.
selfhatred: (I suppose so)

Yeah. She can be a bit of a handful sometimes but someone has to keep her on the straight line.

[He's not even going to correct her on the fact that they're cousins, not brother and sister, because at this point? Yeah, she's pretty much his twin.]

Yeah, it was originally a fanfiction and then the author changed the names and removed any traces of vampires and the like. Copyright reasons or some shit. It'd be the only way they could've published it without Meyer throwing a bigger shitfit than what she did.

I hear siblings can be like that though. It's each other's duty to look after the other, especially the older ones.

[By which she means, that's the ideas she's grasped from books. And she's completely aware of the twisted Vantas family tree, but from what she heard Karkat was coming to accept his surrogate family so sister seems perfectly acceptable.]

Well I'm not surprised Ms Meyer didn't get extremely upset with that. She doesn't seem like the most relaxed one. Though she's nowhere near as bad as Anne Rice. She has extremely strict rules on all fanworks.
