WHERE: Hogwarts Express/Platform 9 3/4 and The Great Hall
WHAT: Gotta get back to Hogwarts! Back to witches and wizards and magical feasts! Students and teachers are finally heading back to school on the Hogwarts express, and with the new school year means sorting for the first years!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: There is a thread for the Train back to Hogwarts, and the Feast, with a subthread for the Sorting! First years can comment to be sorted, and everyone else can greet their new house mates/students!

[Rapunzel smiled and pulled Greg into a hug; they weren't all that close, but familiar faces were always so exciting after a long, dull summer.]

Good to see you, too, Greg! How'd the summer treat you?

[If he could go any redder he'd be a tomato. Still he did return her hug, albeit slightly stiffly, before he quickly let go and cleared his throat.]

S'alright. Did some work, looked after the twins. Had Maxim and Arthur down to London during the Olympics. Other than that it was quiet.

[She nods, though her smile falters notably at the mention of Maxim. Still...]

That sounds amazing! I'd love to see the Olympics, I bet. Hope you boys had fun!

Mine was all quiet. I'm so happy for school to be starting up again.

[Well that won't do at all, will it? Greg doesn't like seeing her upset, especially when he's around her. It's not only the Veela charm; she's generally always been the sunshine and cheer of Hufflepuff tower. It's strange to see her down, and Greg doesn't like it one bit.]

You can tell me, I don't mind. We're Hufflepuffs; we stick up for each other.

[It's true; being upset doesn't seem to suit her. She smiles weakly.]

You know how Van and Maxim started dating this summer?

Yeah, I heard about that. Seems like they finally got together; I know I owe Arthur 5 sickles, I was betting Maxim would've been the one to let the whole school know.

[Mr Sensitive, you are not earning points, :/ ]

Umm, yeah. I mean, Maxim hangs around Van a lot, and he's always sneaking into the boy's dorms.

[Damn. He opens, and then closes his mouth, embarrassed beyond all measure. He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly, trying to figure out what to say, before he settles, rather lamely, on:]

[Quick, quick, think of something to say to save this situation!! Greg is not the most eloquent of speakers, but he manages to cobble together something.]

W-well, don't get too down about it. There are other boys out there. Maxim's just one purple fish in the whole ocean.

I guess? I mean, I know there are other boys. I just don't know how I feel about them... You know what I mean?

N-not really...I mean, yeah I've had crushes, but they've never been anything serious. Just something that happens, and then it goes away after awhile.

Well, I mean... I guess I don't really know if Maxim is more serious than a crush, but it still hurts.

[Oh Rapunzel. He frowns and bites his bottom lip. He's already in it deep; might as well take the plunge and say what's on his mind.]

Look, Maxim's a good bloke and all, but really there are other boys out there who think that you're the one for them, and they're not half-nad either. And it's normal to be sad after crushes go bad, but you just gotta pick yourself up and move on. Dad's always telling me that we're young, we've still got a long way to go. So...don't give up.

...I don't know, Greg. We're young, but... You never know what'll happen, right? Someone you've known all this time could end up being the one for you.

[...She laughs a tiny laugh.]

But I guess your dad's right, too. We still have a long way to go, so... I don't know.
