WHERE: Hogwarts Express/Platform 9 3/4 and The Great Hall
WHAT: Gotta get back to Hogwarts! Back to witches and wizards and magical feasts! Students and teachers are finally heading back to school on the Hogwarts express, and with the new school year means sorting for the first years!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: There is a thread for the Train back to Hogwarts, and the Feast, with a subthread for the Sorting! First years can comment to be sorted, and everyone else can greet their new house mates/students!

[Aranea had been waiting for this day since a week after school let out. It was nice to be home, with all her personal things, to have her mother around her, to have her own space. But it was also highly lonely. There were not many children of her own age living around her, and the few that were went to muggle schools, and thus there were no close bonds. Letters to Meenah had helped ease the loneliness, but as they say; there is nothing like going back to Hogwarts.

Moments after her arrival on platform 9 3/4 Aranea was changed into her uniform, robes freshly pressed, her new Prefect badge shiny and her blue tie tied neatly. Storing her belongings in the prefect carriage she took to wandering around, greeting housemates and friends, the picture perfect student. Then when everyone gets on and the train leaves the station she stays in her compartment for a bit, feeding owl treats to Athena, and finishing off a book. Half an hour passes, and then she gets up, moving through the carriages to chat to students, and keep an eye on both the Ravenclaws and the new first years, smiling at some of their eyes of wonder]

Hello dollink~! [Is all the warning Aranea gets before she gets swept up by the one Jaeger greeting committee. Which means a hug in a smooch] Hyu ready for anodder fabulous year at Hogvarts?

[She merely laughs, returning the hug, half used to the overenthusiastic acts of the Jaegers.] Hello Maxim! And yes, of course, I've been ready for months. More so since I got my letter and badge of course!

Ho yah, hyu gonna kick my butt, priity lady? [He grins cheekily, folding his arms behind back with a wink] Hyu gonna uze dot shiny new badge to keep me on a leash?

Perhaps I will! [Grins right on back, her hands on her hips] If you deserve it that is. No causing unnecessary trouble to others, right Maxim?

[Rapunzel beams upon spotting her frequent potions tutor, and waves eagerly at her.]

Rapunzel! Hello!

[She grins in return, hurrying over] How was your summer?

Oh, you know... Nothing to send owls about. How about yours?

Oh mine was also quite quiet. But it was nice to be home for a bit, to have all that space and see my mother again. But I feel quite rested now, and very ready for a busy new year.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

That's right! It's a big year, huh? Especially for us.

Hello Aranea. [Please ignore the fact that Eriq is talking to your chest, and not your face, Aranea. He's very tall, he has look down at short people quite often, he can't help it.] I saw that you signed up for my magic and science club. Did you see my note about when the first meeting is? I'd hate for you to miss it, we don't get many girls.

Herbert usually chases them off. I'm not sure why.

Hello Eriq. [It's a good thing she bought a new set of robes through the summer then. Darn growth spurts made it necessary so she wasn't busting out of them.] Oh yes, I did. It seems quite exciting, and I wouldn't mind going into healing after school. It seems likes a very worthwhile career and this looks an excellent way to get a headstart. And yes, I did see that, but I must have forgotten to respond! I've be horribly busy the past week, making sure I had indeed gotten everything I needed, I've forgotten to stay in contact with everyone.

[laughs] Perhaps he simply doesn't know how to deal with us! Like a little boy thinking we have cooties or something.

[If he knew about the robe upgrade, he would silently mourn the lack of cleavage. Thankfully, he doesn't, so he just keeps failing to meet her eyes]

I think it's certainly a good way to test the waters, at the very least. I'm not particularly interested in actual healing myself, so much as research and development, but you can't really do one without knowing everything about the other, so. Yeah.

[Talking to girls is hard.]

[But at least he finally tears his eyes away from her bosom. He's still failing to meet her eyes, but now at least he's blushing a little, looking incredibly sheepish] Yeah, it's probably better that you didn't, because it turned into a real mess within minutes. Honestly, I'm embarrassed and I didn't even really do anything. I just thought I ought to make sure you knew.

[He sighs and rolls his eyes] You'd think he'd grow out of that, but seeing how he hasn't even grown over the summer, I guess that's still a thing that's coming. I really hope you and Twilight can handle it. [If only because maybe they might distract Oggie from walloping Herbert with their boobs. He doesn't want to spend the time they could be doing club things trying to break up fights]

[Poor thing. Well perhaps finding out about her taking part in the swimming lessons will perk him up.]

True, true. I suppose all of us will have different things we want to get out of this in the end, though we have the same basic goal. And yes, they do go hand in hand, but that does sound like an interesting topic! Are you looking at finding connections between the muggle and magic world or something else?

[Oh I'm sure it is very hard.

But very good Eriq. Gold star for you. Aranea may have actually noticed towards the end, giving him a very pointed look. Or perhaps it's the blush and sheepishness that gives him away] Oh? A fight occurred then? That's no good, we've barely even started, we don't need to already be tearing each other apart.

Perhaps being around them more, with the club will help. I can be very stubborn, and there is no way he's pushing me out of something I believe I'll really enjoy- [Wait rewind] Twilight's joining? Well then. Lets hope she can spare it and it won't affect those grades of her. I've beaten her quite often you know, even with tutoring others, and I'm determined to do so again this year. Especially with OWLs being the year. [Calm down Ranea no one likes an overzealous nerd] I mean. Yes. I'm sure we'll be able to handle it. At the very least I will be.

I would have expected you to become a prefect.

[Rose was jealous. She was still a year shy of being able to be one. That is, to say, she would definitely be one. But Aranea was smart, and she respected her.] I hope your Summer was relaxing and enjoyable.

[If Aranea can pick up on Rose's jealousy she doesn't show it, smiling pleasantly at the younger girl.] I'm sure Slytherin will gain a wonderful new one next year myself. And my summer was wonderful, though I'm very glad to be heading back to Hogwarts. I'm ready for a new year. How was yours, if I may ask?

No need to thank me. It was your hard work, after all.

[It's not like Rose doesn't think she won't be able to attain the Prefect spot next year.] I intend to try my hardest to get appointed.

Mine was wonderful. I traveled this Summer without my mother's constant presence. We went to Germany and separated ways to indulge in what we were more interested in. As much as I enjoy a good social party, I am not the socialite like her. I got to see many of the museums and the history was fascinating.

Don't be silly, it was a thank you for your remark of congratulations Rose. I am fully aware of who is responsible for this achievement.

[A teasing smile] I'd offer a good word but I doubt it'll be needed.

Oh that sounds gorgeous. I've always wanted to travel around Europe, but it's simply finding the time for both myself and my mother. You must tell me about the museums though, perhaps I can even capture just the essence of how wonderful it must have been]

Sometimes a thanks is in order. I don't want you to think that you aren't appreciated.

Of course. We all should try our hardest while in school.

[Rose's smile is much more sincere when she starts talking about Germany.] Perhaps we should organize a group to travel sometime! It would be great to visit such wondrous and historical buildings together. The museums were wonderful. I spent so much time amidst them that I had to prolong my trip to do other things when I realize I had barely done anything but them. The art exhibits were my favorite. Muggles really are quite gifted in surprising ways.

[Feferi spots Aranea, kinda relieved to see her since she might know the whereabouts of her sister. She also had I.O.U Aranea a hug for the first day of school, so this was the best time to give it! She waves to her and as she approaches her, tries ever so hard not to leap on her.]

Aranea! What are you up too?

[Aranea turns quickly, greeting Feferi with a grin]

Feferi! Hello! And not much, just making sure everyone and everything gets on correctly.

[Feferi smiles back at Aranea.]

Ahh i see, its definitely good to see you again Aranea! Surprised to see my sister isn't bugging you already!!

It's good to see you too Fef. And no, I haven't seen her yet. Perhaps she's hiding from me. I did tell her I was going to make sure she had actually packed her textbooks this year after all.

That's kinda suprizing, then again, you probably scared her off with a mention of textbooks.
