Yay camp!

WHAT: First two days of camp! Time to get settled in and explore what's around.
STATUS: ONGOING

The camp isn't too different from any other camp. Cabins where people will stay, a space for a bonfire, a nearby lake for everyone to swim in, and of course, a thick morning mist all around the camp, because it's pretty early in the morning.

Still! There's stuff to do already. Those beds won't assign themselves, nor will those bags unpack themselves. Like it's just been said, there's no marked beds, so it's up to each and every one of you to work out the sleeping arrangements yourselves.

But once you're done, you're free to roam around, take a swim, climb a tree, explore the woods, and other assorted camp activities you do when you have free time.

Nah. [And Gamzee just reaches one long arm out, tugs on Shinra's pants leg to pull him down onto the bed, and then wraps his arms around the other boy's shoulders, happily hugging him] It's cool.

Are you sure? I didn't mean to disturb you.

[Shinra pauses momentarily before allowing himself to be pulled downwards and perching himself on the edge of the bed, tensing a little as Gamzee wraps his arms around him. He's never really been sure of how to respond to Gamzee's displays of affection, but he'll figure it out! Eventually.]

When did you get here? I don't think I saw you come in.

[Yeah, Gamzee is totally willing to back off if told to do so? But if not specifically told, he tends to drape anyway, and is fairly persistent about it. Or oblivious. Or both.]

Oh, man, I don't got the knowing of that. [His time sense is also a little wonky.] I didn't see nobody here, though, so I just got my wait on, and I guess there were dreams what needed to be happening. Where you been, bro?

[Shinra settles into the hug and inclines his head towards the bed in the corner.]

I've been unpacking over there for the most part.

[He then turns back towards Gamzee, peering at him curiously]

How do you know when your dreams need to happen? Is that why you learned to fall asleep on command?

[blinks at Shinra, then scratches at the back of his head, pushing himself up on one elbow and keeping the other arm around his friend loosely] Uh ... I don't know if I can do it if there are commands or something. I mostly just know the dreaming needs to get done because I fall asleep, and that's what that all must be meaning, right?

[doctorkishitani]

That is a possibility.

[He contemplates said possibility for a moment before offering Gamzee a small smile.]

You know... I used to think you were narcoleptic, but maybe you just have an extremely powerful subconscious! After all, it does seem to take control a lot. And you do have very vivid dreams.

[Gamzee cocks his head to one side curiously.] Uh, maybe? Is that when the stuff you're dreaming about all takes over your regular life, like sleepwalking and shit?

[Well Shinra is positively beaming now. Convincing his father to let him come to camp had been the best idea. As nice as the summer has been, he's been missing these conversations.]

Yes! It could be, in a sense. Do you sleepwalk at all? I wouldn't be surprised if you did.

I used to do it all the motherfuckin' time when I was a wiggler. [admits] Freaked the shit out of my da I guess, 'cause I'd go down to the beach, and it's a long way down, and the sea can be dangerous, you know? I only done it a few times at school, though.
