You're a loose cannon, Thor.

WHAT: Thor and Loki need to buy shit for school and stop annoying Odin.
STATUS: Ongoing

For the first few days, Thor loved the holidays. He could spend time with his family, eat whenever he wanted and not have to worry about study for the most part (he could bullshit his assignments later, right?). However, after a few days he would begin to grow restless. Thor is an adventuresome sort, if he can't find fun around the house he will make fun. Thor's variety of fun generally leads to mess and chaos, so it's best to get him out of the house for at least a few hours.

Filled with brotherly pride and excitement, his mission for the day is to assist Loki in finding all of his school books and items for the year. Diagon Alley is bustling with more than a few new students checking off their lists and Thor's attentions are fairly easy to lose when faced with new ideas. After hitting a few shops, Thor spies a pet store and comes up with a brilliant little idea. In a move that he would probably regret, he tells his younger brother to stay put with his ice cream while he goes to look at brooms. Little does Loki know, Thor actually intends on buying something for Loki that isn't broom like at all. Every boy needs an animal companion and Thor had spotted the perfect one for his trickster of a brother. He's determined to keep it a suprise as he weaves off into the crowd, leaving Loki alone for what he assumed would be a short time.

Unlike his brother, Loki could amuse himself endlessly inside; a skill he had developed three years ago when Thor left for Hogwarts. This did not mean that Loki did not like getting outside. On the contrary, when he and Thor could, they would spend time outside of the Odinson Mansion.

Thus Loki was very excited when Thor announced they would be going to Diagon Alley. Having already gone during winter break to get his wand, Loki could not wait to go back to pick up the remainder of his school supplies. When Thor and he stopped for ice cream and he was told to wait, he had every intention of listening to his brother and staying right there.

However, he saw something out of the corner of his eye, and it would only take a moment to find out what it was. A moment turned into a moment more, and then a moment more, and eventually he found himself in a dark, dirty alley. He felt uneasy, and the way the people around him were looking at him did not help.

What was worse, he couldn't find his way back. His ice cream long gone, Loki huddled under a store sign that read Borgan and Burks

When Loki leaves his spot, Thor has already hightailed it to the Magical Menagerie. He already knows exactly what he intends to get, he had noticed Loki eyeing it off as they walked past the store the first time around. Call Thor unobservant all you like, he has his moments.

In a timely manner, Thor wanders back toward the ice cream store. In his hand is an empty cage and nested in his hair is a pleased looking Magpie. He glances about, wondering if he got the right place, trying so hard not to yell in suprise.

He gulps, glancing about frantically, asking everyone he can if they've seen someone of Loki's description. Between this and the fight, Thor was begining to question why anyone trusted him. He hadn't expected Loki to leave, and that was dumb of him, his brother had always been a wanderer.

There's no doubt about it, Thor will find Loki if he needs to shake every person in diagon alley.

The alley was dark and at least three suspicious looking witches has already tried to get him to come with them. Luckily Loki was smart, and knew not to go places with strangers. Especially strangers with dodgy eyes.

Would Thor even find him here? Did he even notice he was missing? No, no he had to realize Loki was gone by now. It felt like it had been ages. Loki didn't even realize he was crying until a wizard missing most of his teeth asked why.

"I am lost." It was a simple answer, and did not give much away. The wizard smiled and told Loki the entrance to Diagon Alley was just that way. Loki was very good at being able to tell when he was being lied to, however, and refused to move. Unfortunately the wizard did not accept defeat to easily, and grabbed Loki roughly and began dragging him in the direction he had pointed.

After scaring off at least three older wizards, Thor found someone willing to cooperate with his frantic yelling and shaking. He described Loki to them and they were able to recall seeing him in the shadier parts of the town. After getting a vague location and sputtering a thank you, Thor is dashing off to find Loki.

As soon as he begins to realise where the locations are leading him, he begins to get nervous. He's heard stories of children being dragged away and eaten in these streets. He's not sure how many of those stories were made up to keep him away from the temptation of darker magic, but he isn't willing to take a chance.

The sounds of scuffling reach Thor's ears, and he takes off, looking for the source. His heart beats hard against his chest when he sees some filthy stranger trying to drag his brother away. Without much of a thought, he dashes forward and slams against the older man, leaving him no time to gather his bearrings before he grabs his brother's wrist and makes a break for the safer side of town.

"Quick, Brother!"

He sputters again, breathlessly. He hasn't seemed to notice the bird has shifted from his head to his shoulder, still lingering around. Yet, he seems to have inadvertently crushed the cage.

Loki almost bites the new hand that grabs him before he realizes it is his brother.

"Thor!"

He does his best to keep up with his brother, and manages to only trip once. When they finally made it out of the alley Loki is panting and crying all at the same time. He launches forward and clutches Thor's shirt, burying his face in it.

"I'msorryBrotherIsawsomethingandIwenttogoseewhatitwasandbeforeIknewitIwaslostandiwassoscaredandthenthatwizardcamealongandIthoughthewasgoingtoeatmeandIthoughtI'dneverseeyouagainandIwassoscaredandI'msorryThorpleasedon'tbemadatmeIloveyousomuch."

As soon as Loki launches against him, Thor's arms wrap tightly around him. He leans his head forward to lean his chin on Loki's head, patting his back comfortingly as he pointedly ignores onlookers and their stares.

He hushes Loki, but it's so hard not to chuckle at his frantic word vomit. He still feels horribly guilty, but he's reassured now that his brother is safe and close. He squeezes him close for a long moment. "I love you too, brother." He mumbles, feeling a little awkward about it since he's meant to be the cool manly brother here.

Tactlessly, the magpie on his shoulder ruins the moment by cawing loudly into Thor's ear. "MOTHER OF-- ah! Brother! Look up!"

Loki jumps at the sound of the bird as well. At his brother's exclamation he looked up and his blood-shot eyes widen.

"Thor, he's beautiful!" A large smile breaks across Loki's face.

Thor nudges the bird onto his hand. It seems hesitant at first, but it finally hops on, tilting its head curiously at Loki as Thor stretches his hand out closer. He's grinning so wide right now, almost as excited to give the present as Loki is to take it.

"He is yours!"

Loki's face lights up with the biggest smile he'd ever worn.

"Really? Thank you, Brother!"

The bird makes it's way onto Loki's shoulder, where Loki begins to pet it's sleek black feathers.

"But I thought I was only allow an owl in Hogwarts?"

Well, if Thor was feeling worried of guilty just now, it's passed. Seeing his brother smile like that makes everything worth it. Almost.

He claps a hand on his shoulder and gives him a friendly shake, beaming back at him. He's glad the bird seems to to take to Loki, it suits him quite well.

"We will have father talk to him. He makes a rather charming companion, don't you think?"

Loki was still slightly shaken up, but his brother giving him such a lovely present.

"I think so. Does he have a name?"

"He does not, actually." His grin can't get wider, oh my god. "He is yours to name as you wish."

Loki thought for a moment, considering his new pet and what would be a suitable name for him.

"Ikol. His name is Ikol."

Yeah, Loki backwards. Not very creative, but he's 11.

"A handsome name for a handsome bird!" Thor reaches out to pet the bird's head with a finger, but it seems to have taken a disliking for him and shies away from his hand. That only earns it a soft smirk from Thor as he stands u straight.

"I only hope that he will serve you well."

"I am sure he will!" He took Thor's hand and smiled.

"Come, let us complete our shopping so we may partake in ice cream!"

Thor sways their hands as he looks about Diagon Alley, thinking about his own list before glancing down at his brother.

"You read my mind!" He chuckles. "What more can you possibly need, brother? Do you have all of your books?"

"I would like to pick up a book on magical languages, but other than that I have everything. What of you, Thor?"

His smile was wide as they proceeded down the street. Surprisingly Ikol stayed on his shoulder the entire time.

"Oh! Are you taking Professor Strider's class? It seems terribly exciting." He fumbles for his own, crinkled and abandoned list, trying to figure out what's been crossed off and what's been smudged.

He groans. "I need my herbology book."

"I am hoping to. He said if it were not possible he would give me separate tutelage."

Loki glances over at the list, a slight frown on his face at it's state.

"Then let us proceed to the book store!"

"Professor Strider is the coolest, you will soon see! He makes the other professors look like-- actually, that is not true. They are all pretty cool."

He smiles fondly, having made himself excited about the fact that his brother is finally coming to Hogwarts for what feels like the millionth time these holidays.

"Onward!"
