What: Thor is throwing Steve a SURPRISE PARTY and EVERYONE IS INVITED

[FINALLY! The dawn America day! Steve would soon arrive expecting nothing more than a sleepover. HOW WRONG HE WAS! Thor has set up a nice little shindig here and his parents were kind enough to leave the kids for some totally cool unsupervised party time.

The Odinson house is quite large and filled with quite a few curious wizarding quirks, so this time the halfbloods will be the ones getting culture shocked.]

[It looks a bit...nicely done. He opens it carefully, tucking the box between his arm and his side as he folds up the paper. It's going to take him a while to get to the present.

I gave it a good try. But no, in the end Jarvis did it. I can solder electronics, and weave intricate spells.

[Shrugs with an awkward grin]

Can't wrap a simple box, go figure.

[He's smiling, though, opening the box finally. He pauses, pulling out the dog alarm clock.]

What is it?

That, is a white shepard in a helmet.

[He scratches the back of his head]

It's an alarm clock, you tell him the time you want to wake up and he'll bark at that time.

I made it low voltage with some lithium batteries, so it should at least last till your I dunno, thirty?

[Tony shrugs a little, not sure why he's feeling so awkward about this]

[He stares at it, before smiling up at Tony and placing the dog back in the box.]

Thank you very much, Tony. I can't say I would have thought you'd give me something so nice.

It's not really that great, you probably already have an alarm clock. I just remembered you said that you prefer home made things. Something about putting more effort into the process, I don't think I was really paying attention.

[He glances around for a moment, before looking back at Steve]

Well, you've got heaps of other people to bathe you in gifts. So, yeah. Happy birthday, hope you enjoy it.

[Tony pats Steve's upper arm as a part of his saying happy birthday, before stepping back from him and turning to leave.]

[He's not used to Tony being so nice! It's so nice and strange!]

[Tony raises an eyebrow at him]

Repay me? It's a birthday present. The whole point of presents are that they're repayment free. Completely no strings attached.

And it wasn't that much work. I was going to make it move about. But it would just chase your cat. You do have a cat right?

[Tony's capable of being nice, it's just not often enough he can get Steve by himself to prove it.]

Really, the only thing I want is for a tighter leash on your golden Nordic retriever. It only took me a week, Steve really for me this stuff is like breathing for how hard it is.

Well... Getting the dog to look right was a bit irritating, and I don't know why I gave it a helmet. But yeah. Dont worry about it.
[He rubs the back of his neck, feeling his cheeks warm at the honest praise]

Thor's not a dog. [He bites back a sigh, shaking his head. One step forward, two steps back.]

He looks nice. Even if it wasn't hard to make, the effort is still here.

Long blonde hair, fiercely loyal, will eat just about anything. Look I'm not having a go at him. I'm just likening him to man's best friend. You're a man and he's your best friend.


I'm, well, really I'm just glad you like it.

[Shakes his head, but he smiles softly at Tony. They can talk about this later.]

[Stares at the smile for a second then looks away sharply]

Yeah, good. You should look forward to it, it'll work like a charm I promise.

But hey, I'm holding up the party boy. You've got schmoozing to do. So I'll go ... And I'll keep myself out of trouble too.


[Tony starts to back away, feeling silly for staring at Steve's smile.]

[Steve nods, waving at Tony at he leaves. He's going to go put the clock in his room, so it doesn't get broken.]

I hope it does. And you should know I'm not good at schmoozing, so I won't do much of that.

[Gives him a vague salute and a grin]

Come on Steve, we're all here for you. You can schmoomz like the best of us.
