WHERE: That hallway on that one floor.
WHAT: Georgia and Link haven't spoken since the Truth event, and Link feels that Georgia is purposely avoiding him because of that whole gay for Puck nonsense. Well, Link's decided he's had enough of that.
STATUS: ONGOING

It had been a month or more since Link and Georgia last spoke, and even then it had been under.. unfair circumstances. There were a few things Link never intended to say to Georgia. Ever. But the option to keep quiet wasn't available at the time, and well, things went awry. Link could understand why Georgia was ignoring him. It's not everyday a good-looking boy like him admits he's gay. Or maybe it does. Link didn't exactly keep up with that sort of thing.

Today, he wanted to change things. It was hard enough being in the same house let alone having the same group of friends. He needed to talk to her. He needed to clear some things up.

Georgia was fine with the avoiding thing. Sure, it meant she spent significantly less time in the common room, and when she was around, she was in her dorm, but this was perfect in her eyes. Really really.

After all, it was not everyday that the bloke you've fancied for nearly a year tells you that he is a certified homosexualist, specifically mentioning a DIFFERENT bloke you fancy. In addition to being heartbroken and finding herself once again stranded in the cakeshop of love, she didn't know what to say to Link. What was she supposed to do? Would they go to get manicures now? What if he wanted her advice on how to seduce Puck? She didn't think she could handle that.

"...Bugger." ...Which was why seeing him at the end of that one hallway on that one floor made her do her customary about face and try to go back the way she came.

When Link saw Georgia, he didn't know what to do at first, but as soon as she turned tail to run, Link's thoughts caught up with him.

"H-hey!" Link quickened his pace to catch up with her. After all that planning, he couldn't just let her get away. No. He had a lot to say to her, and he might not get a chance like this. At least, not now that she knew he was looking for her.

With a push of determination, he caught up with her before she got the idea to duck in to the girl's lavatory to ditch him. Reaching out, he grabbed her upper arm, halting her in her tracks. "Georgia, can you stop for a minute? We really need to talk."

Georgia continued to high tail it, thinking that if she could only get to the loo, she would be home free. Noooooo, stop following her. She froze when he grabbed her arm, it felt a bit more electric than she was expecting. Bugger bugger buggerationy bum bum.

"Oh! Er, hi, Link, I was just...having a bit of a run. You know, have to stay in tip-top shape for Quidditch," This felt awkward, and the fight or flight urge had not subsided. Why did they have to talk? She wasn't good at the talking, as anyone who had heard her speak could verify. "...You wanted to talk?"

"We need to talk." Link didn't want to be so curt with her, but he didn't think she would listen to him otherwise. He let go of her arm, at least, crossing his arms across his chest. "Look, I know I... said some things before," he glanced away, not really wanting to remember that conversation, "and I know that you've been avoiding me because of it. It's been going on for months now."

"...Right." Georgia turned meek at Link's persistence and suddenly her shoes became really interesting to look at. She didn't really know what to say, so she didn't say anything.

Link bit his lip. He couldn't think of anything to say that wouldn't make this more awkward than it already was, and he certainly didn't want to bring up that.

"What do you want me to say? Do you want me to say I'm sorry?" He lowered his voice, hoping someone wouldn't show up out of nowhere to eavesdrop on their conversation. "You know, that stuff about Puck, it's just... It's not really anything to worry about, okay?"

Georgia started to look up at him, and she thought of all of the wishing and timing things to run into him, and the worrying she'd done after she'd stupidly made out with Puck, and all of the lippy she'd used up trying to look nice, and how her nose had gotten so swollen from crying that she looked like she had three cheeks, and she finally said, "You know what, YES. You should apologise, you are just...a PRAT and a half for not telling me! If I had known you were into blokes...well...well...!!"

She felt a tiny bit of her wanting to blub some more, but she blinked through it and backed off a bit. "Well, it is sort of important to know, isn't it?"

Link was expecting some sort of outburst. In fact, he had been preparing for it. "You know what? You're right. I'm sorry." He shrugged. "I'm sorry that I didn't even know I felt that way. I'm sorry that I was so uncomfortable with the fact that I had feelings for my best friend that I just wanted to keep it to myself. But you're absolutely right. I should've told you. In fact, I should just tell everyone right now."

After his response, Georgia felt a bit bad. In the end, he was still a matey-type person after all, even if he did happen to be a boy with maximum snoggability. Maybe the thought of Link being a possible contender for Puck's affections didn't sit well with her, but she really had decided to eschew her feelings for him with a firm hand. "...No, Link, you don't need to do that. You've probably been miz enough without all the dramosity. Sorry."

Okay, now it was Link's turn to feel bad. He didn't mean to get snippy with her. "It's been rough, but I'm at least doing what I can to get through the awkwardness." He took a deep breath and shifted a bit. "Puck knows. I kind of.. told him without thinking about it. And Amber knows. Oh, and Cassie knows. She was the one who brought it up first, actually."

Georgia already knew about Cassie; she'd been furious at the Hufflepuff for a few weeks for not telling her. She also knew about Amber because he'd mentioned it before (although it was too weird to contemplate why Amber would be Link's beardy person if she knew). But PUCK knew too? Blimey O'Reilly's pajamas, did everyone find out before her? "...I would not really worry about telling the whole world, I think you already have."

Link laughed a bit at that comment. He really had told everyone that mattered. Not that Georgia didn't matter before. He was just keeping a promise he made to Cassie, that was all. "It probably doesn't mean anything now, but I do really like you. And this whole thing is just stupid." He tilted his head to try to catch her eye. "You know it's stupid, right? I mean.. Do you really think I'd have a chance with Puck when there are girls like you around?"

Georgia caught his look and felt herself go a bit red at that. Boys were impossible to understand. One second they were like 'Oh I fancy that fit roommate of mine' and the next they were flattering you. It filled her with confusionosity. Even more than she usually had, which was saying quite a lot.

"It's not stupid. You're quite sweet, you know. And I am sure that any guy would think so too."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I don't think I'm going to be dating any guys anytime soon. Or ever." Link shot a smile and a wink her way. "We're okay now, right? I don't want to find out your avoiding me again because I'm not above chasing you down a hallway."

Georgia didn't get why he would say something like that. There were tons of homos in Hogwarts, why couldn't he just date one of them? Or was this a Puck only type of thing? She wasn't sure if she really wanted to know the answer, so she didn't push it.

Besides, she felt unexpectedly cheered up after their talk. She decided to loop arms with him. "Yes, we can be mates again. And you shouldn't chase me, I am quite fast, or so I've been told."

Well, this was nice. He definitely preferred happy Georgia to 'avoiding you like the plague' Georgia. "I'll keep in mind that if I have to bet on someone to win a race, I'll put all my money on you."
