[Who knew the Great Hall could look like a classy club. The music is loud, the lights are all over the place and the dance floor is begging you to cut a rug.]

I didn't bring a watch either, but I can tell you that I only got here fairly recently.

Some of the music's got a good beat. Nothing I recognize though. One of the side effects of being a muggleborn, I guess! (Hehehehe)

Don't worry. I'm a halfblood and I'm not familiar with much of this music either. Or with music in general. But I suppose you're right. It does have a good beat.

[He smiles back at Terezi, echoing her infectious laugh.]

I don't think I've been here long enough to say for certain, but so far I'm having a much better time than I did last year!

I don't think anything necessarily went wrong. I just didn't enjoy it all that much.
In any case, this year's dance is much better.

Did you go last year? How did you find it?

Haha! Nooo, no, last year I'd had a little "incident". You may have heard of it. (Hehehe) I stayed away from crowded areas for a while.

Right! I do remember hearing about that. And I still think you were probably close to brewing something really groundbreaking.
Well, in any case, you've recovered amazingly from what I can tell!

I might get another book or two on potions or herbology. Try to figure out if there are any ingredients that would either keep the thing more stable, or figure out exactly what made it explode in the first place. I don't think it was what I added right before it blew up. Crushed snake fangs aren't supposed to be unstable like that...
