[The new woman gets a glance, before Chiara finishes scribbling down something]

Is it? There are much flashier forms of magic. Very few find herbology genuinely interesting.
quasistellar: ([human] a bit impressed)

I take it you're one of them? I was always one for the skies, myself.
tomatatas: (Unbelievable)

I wouldn't be teaching it if I wasn't. [Still taking notes] I never was one for astrology. Too busy in the day for late nights to stare at some lights. But each to their own, as the English say.
quasistellar: ([human] how about no?)

[personal profile] quasistellar 2012-06-11 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[SOME LIGHTS?! Oh no, she didn't.]

Those 'lights' are my passion. They're more than just twinkly things to look at. Unlike your pretty flowers.
tomatatas: (Lots of up and low)

[personal profile] tomatatas 2012-06-11 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh yes she did]

And I'm sure it's a very good and useful passion. As for pretty flowers, I rarely keep those. Only plants that can be used in potions, spells or cooking. Even the Fanged Geraniums have a use.
quasistellar: ([human] I'll hear you out)

One couldn't navigate without the stars. Or know when to plant, or what signs to watch out for when one has the need for a specific effect for a spell.

Of course, plants have their uses, but you can't navigate with one.
tomatatas: (I’ll let you think twice)

[personal profile] tomatatas 2012-06-11 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
There are compasses these days. Maps as well. We are no longer Romans, leaving our fates up to the hands of our Gods and watching the skies for omens.

You may not be able to navigate with a plant but you can heal. Feed. Create needed potions. Important uses. [Continues going around taking notes, stepping neatly around Condy]
quasistellar: ([human] no. stop.)

[personal profile] quasistellar 2012-06-11 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Just because you're too nearsighted to see outside the garden walls doesn't mean we all are.

[Condy just laughs.]

Some of us only see the ground, I suppose. Others dream of the stars.
tomatatas: (I'm not here looking)

[personal profile] tomatatas 2012-06-11 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I see enough from my greenhouses. Often in closer detail than one who stares at lights would.

[Tiny, couldn't care less shrug]

Yes some of us do prefer to live a practical, realistic life than chasing fantasies.
quasistellar: ([human] how about no?)

I'm sure you do. What with bugs and such.

[...]

Did you just say that?
tomatatas: (I’m sure you’ll smile)

[personal profile] tomatatas 2012-06-12 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I've had my fair share of pests.

[Including you.]

Well I don't keep any speaking plants here, so I suppose it must have been one of us.
