WHERE: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; Broom cleaning is on the front lawn, but feel free to wander!
WHAT: Students and Teachers are cleaning brooms for the surrounding community in attempt to raise funds. Crazy hijinks ensue when the 4th wall is promptly broken.

[ She shrugs. ] I guess! I didn't actually know you were an alien until Tavros told me.

[ This all sounds like a very grand adventure to her, so she just nods. ] How many Houses are there?

[selfhatred]

Wait, Tavros is an alien too? Lemme guess, so is Gamzee.

[Yeah, this is kind of weird. Being told your not!boyfriend is an alien. Hahaha. Well, if she wants the tour then there's a lot to cover. He starts walking away from the front lawn, gesturing for her to follow.]

There's four. I'm in Gryffindor, then there's Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. They sort us in the beginning of our first year and you're stuck there for seven years until you graduate.

Gamzee, Terezi, Vriska, Aradia, Sollux, Feferi, Eridan, Equius.... [ Shrug! ] All aliens. Oh, Kanaya too.

[ She is following as fast as she can!! Which means pretty slowly because she's ogling at everything. ]

That doesn't sound so bad. I bet you make lots of friends that way.

[selfhatred]

Huh.

[Weird how all of them were aliens. Well he can't really blame her for ogling. He pretty much did the same thing during his first year which caused him to fall into the lake during the crossing. He stops to wait for her, placing his hands into the pockets of the hoodie he was wearing instead of the school sweater.]

Well, it actually took me a while to make friends in my first year. I couldn't really speak a lot of English so the language barrier made it a bit hard.

[selfhatred]

You were my third friend actually. [He shrugged a little.] John introduced us.

Good. [ She seems pleased by this! And she finally stops ogling enough to walk forward again. ] So, where is this other Jade? What House is she in?

[selfhatred]

[He waits for her to catch up before turning to walk again.]

She's in Ravenclaw, the smart House. [He bites his bottom lip.] We actually dated for a little while.

Ravenclaw... [ Considers this! Until that other thing happens, then she turns a little red. ] Oh! Are you not any more?

[selfhatred]

[His own face is a little red.]

Nah. Long story short, I...punched Dave in the face for making Tavros cry and we broke up.

You shouldn't punch people, that's mean! [ Though Dave was equally mean, to make Tavros cry... ] But it must have been really bad, if she broke up with you.

[selfhatred]

[Well there was a whole lot of background to the story so it's not quite how he says it is.]

She punched me too if it makes you feel better. We made up but she's dating Dave.

[ Hehe okay that makes Jade giggle. ] That sounds like something I would do! I'm dating Dave, too.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, Karkat.

[selfhatred]

[He scuffs his sneaker against the floor.]

I guess even when I'm an alien I'm always second best to Strider.

[ She stops, and puts her hands on his shoulders. ]

Don't say that! You're not second best to anybody. You're a hero, and my friend, and even though we aren't dating, you found someone who would take even better care of you than I would. And even though our universes aren't the same, I am pretty sure that there are tons of people who would like you that way! You just have to give them a chance.

[selfhatred]

[He bites his bottom lip before bowing his head with a small smile. He had found someone, but he still wasn't sure if they were official or not. And he and Dave had talked their differences out and were sort of tentative friends at best.]
