A very merry-un-birthday.
Who: Cyrus Onikous + YOU
Tone: Festive. Unfortunately festive.
Rating: VARIES. Depends on the character.
When: Late Afternoon/Evening of May 16th
Where: TBD? Depends if you're going to the awkward party of seeing him in the halls, or class, or what have you.
What: Cyrus is 32. Cyrus is not happy about this. Someone decided to throw him a birthday party. Cyrus decides to sob and drink away his sorrows because NOPE. HE IS NOT GOING TO BE CELEBRATING GETTING OLDER.
[Cyrus was not happy. No. Not happy at all. He dreaded May 16th with a passion, each year since he was in his fifth year at Hogwarts. A less than stellar party was planned, and less than stellar shenanigans ensued, and since then? Birthdays were a curse to the Greek rune-o-phile. So, he'll just be skulking around, most likely prepared to become very frustrated or chew you out for wishing him a happy birthday. Go on. Do it. Celebrate his birthday. It'll be funny.]

At least until he sees Cyrus. The tune dies as he grins, very very brightly. He hasn't gotten a chance to talk to the other teacher much at all yet. Here one is.]
Afternoon! Great day isn't it?
no subject
No, it's awful.
no subject
Why is it awful? Good weather and happy students. No explosions that I'm aware of!
Did your classes go poorly?
no subject
Peter, how old are you again? Your twenties, right?
no subject
Why are you asking?
no subject
[And he tries to flash a smile, but it's strained, and altogether uneasy.]
no subject
Cyrus. [Nod.]
no subject
He just grunts lowly when approached by Murdoc, rolling his eyes.]
Ath long ath you don't antagonithe me, you are allowed to thtand next to me and talk to me.
[Maybe this was more like his fifth.]
no subject
I'm not goin' to say happy birthday, don't worry.
no subject
Good man. Everyone ith acting like thith party ith to thelebrate my birthday or thomething equally as unfulfilling.
[And then he groans.]
Oh wait, that'th ekthactly what thith ith.

So the big man lurks, and when he sees his moment, he attacks. His moment being a time when Cy is talking to several other people - Rhys steps up behind him and slides a hand familiarly over the Runes professor's hip, smiling pleasantly at the other people talking to the Greek as he leans in to murmur softly in the smaller man's ear]
Wouldn't you rather be somewhere else, with my prick shoved up you to make you sing for me? Or I suppose we could just duck under one of these tables.
no subject
Will you excuse us for a moment, the professor seems to have some urgent business to discuss with me.
[It didn't necessarily mean he was going to bring the older man into the next room and ride him until the party ended. No, that was for after hours. Instead, Cyrus just pulled the man off to the side and turn to face him, expression accusatory.]
Rhys, what on earth do you think you're doing? Those are some of my seventh year students who already suspect something between us and I certainly do not need my students looking at me each day, wondering if I had relations the previous night. I know you were whispering, but good heavens, they must have heard you!
[Aww, so flustered and so quickly.]

Rhys, no. Absolutely not. I'm already humiliated enough as it is. I'm trying to be a good host for a party I didn't even want or throw, but I seem to have to mingle with just about everyone here, so I would appreciate it if we kept the lewd semantics to a minimum until people start to leave. After the majority of the crowd has dispersed, you are welcome to make me feel as uncomfortable as possible, because by then I may have enough liquor in me to be receptive. But as of right now, could we please keep things quiet? It's like you want them to know that we are sort of an item. You know, the type that you find in a clearance bin that you wouldn't expect to be in a clearance bin!

[He tilts his head to one side, smiling, one of the rarer ones that isn't mostly smirk.] If you hate this party so much, come away with me.
no subject
...I'd love to Rhys, but this was organized for me and as much as I would cherish leaving this damn thing, I have to stay around here just...mingle.
[He actually shudders at the word "mingle".]

It's one of the advantages about being secretly trysting with such a wicked fellow as me. No one will blame you if I drag you off. [He looks back at the younger man, his smile turning wolfish.] I might just do that, anyway, with or without your permission. If you came willingly it might cause less of a scene, though. Unless you're in the mood for moonlit rooftop chases ...
no subject
Alright, Rhys. I'll come. Quietly. But nothing much, understand. I still want to be able to check in, so it doesn't look like I've completely vanished.
no subject
[And with that, he drew the younger man out into the hall, away from the party.] Decided not to tell me it was your birthday, hm? How old are you now, 22? 23?
no subject
I know you like your partners younger, but I'm thirty-two now. If I'd been twenty-two, I would never have consented to anything, understand?
no subject
no subject
Well, for starters, I'm half your age.

[He tugs his head a little bit, surprised that Rhys is already pulling out the physical flirting. But, he actually keeps the smile, mostly due to how easily the man takes his hand and pulls him into the room.]
A classroom? Really? How cliche.

I had a feeling that might be the case, so yes, I am free if that's what you're asking.

We did something last night. They...had a feeling something might come up for tonight.

[He's smiling, and it is genuine. And he's not lying, Rhys. No need to get jealous.]
no subject
Truly a challenge, when it comes to you.
no subject
I'm sorry? What do you mean?

[But he seems a bit unhappy to think about it...]
I honestly try and just sleep through my birthday.

And just what might those things be?

[He says this, sounding a little bored, but mildly annoyed still.]
It figures as much that you might want me to guess.

Do remember to bring a cloak tonight.

What for?
no subject
no subject
If you say so.
