WHAT: Gamzee is throwing a birthday bash for his bro! Everyone is invited!

There was food. There was music. There were sparkly lights. There was booze. There was even a ridiculously oversized cake, though that had yet to be wheeled in. Gamzee had done everything he could to make sure the birthday party he was throwing for Tavros was well attended, and everyone knew the best way to get a hopping party was to let the Hufflepuffs know they were all invited. Which he had. And then, of course, he had to get the word out to absolutely everyone else he didn't think would be a bastard to his boy.

And then it was just a matter of getting permission to use one of the empty classrooms (he made sure to go through Iroh), setting everything up, waiting for people to come, throwing a blanket silence charm in the hall to disguise everything, and then dispatching Karkat to go get Tavros. When the Hufflepuff showed up, there would be a roomful of people waiting to yell surprise at him, a band with some sweet tunes, and a particularly tastyfine present Gamzee intended to give his bro later.

Because some shit was worth the wait.

Gamzee didn't even know people kept adoption records. In his mind, people just sort of brought babies to orphanages, or possibly churches, and left them there. So he gives Peter a slightly confused look, but the Slytherin is a boy who's used to be a little confused a lot of the time.

"I guess that's a pretty motherfuckin' sweet surprise!"

"It was the best surprise of my life. Or maybe tied for best. My Hogwarts letter was pretty amazing too." Peter wasn't sure what the confusion was about and figured if it was pressing Gamzee would just ask. So he let it slide, laughing at the comment.

"Yeah ... " Gamzee's gaze goes a little distant for a moment, and the corners of his mouth lift a little. Hogwarts had been a revelation for him, that there were other people like him, and that all the strange things he vaguely remembered from his time with his mother were real. Of course, even in the wizarding world, he was still an odd ball, but that was okay.

"So do you all be living with them now?"

"I've been on my own for a while now. But I do plan on visiting a lot!" He wouldn't give up his treehouse home in Skye for anything, but there is an appeal to traveling and visiting others helps that itch.

"Yeah, Tavros needs someone what can play his motherfuckin' games with him," Gamzee said thoughtfully - he was well aware he wasn't very good at that aspect, himself.

"I enjoy games! I'll make sure to play some with him over break." He's very excited about the prospect, actually.

The tall, lanky boy just smiled at Peter then, and took a sip of his beer before looking back over at Tavros. He wasn't all that good at small talk, but he had a feeling the flying professor didn't care all that much.
