Summer don't know me no more
WHO: Sue (Noodle), open!
TONE: Should be pretty light!
RATING: PG-13, at most
WHEN: April
WHERE: Out by the lake
WHAT: Back at school Noodle decides to practice her levitation charm and jam on her guitar.
STATUS: In progress
It was something she had thought up on break, but had been unable to attempt thanks to the rules. So as soon as she was able to, Sue had raced off to the lake and found a reasonably sized rock. Wand out, the incantation comes easy, Wingardium Leviosa murmured with the correct wand movements and the rock slowly lifts itself out of the dirt to hover. Sue allows herself a small smile before using another set of rocks to pull herself up onto the still hovering one, settling into place easily. She'll start sketching out designs then.
But right now she'll haul her acoustic guitar over her shoulder and into her lap and starting to strum. She'll just hang out here for awhile, rock hovering a few feet off the ground, feet swinging against the rock in the semblance of a rhythm as she stares out across the water. Only know and then does she check her fingers, the chords so engrained in her mind. And then she'll start to hum, and all together it begins to sound like a bare boned version of this but with a voice like this.

AHA. A song he understands. His hands move much quicker, and if he wasn't sitting his hips would be moving too. He's alright with melancholy, slow music but he prefers things harder and faster. All things.
"Wazzat? A spell?"
He's glancing about for signs of magic.

Frankly, she's glad that he's sitting. The hip movements he's fond of attract too much attention and half the time make her want to hit him over the head with something. But the faster beat is nice and the sun warm and there's music."
"A food. From Japan."

He follows that with a sage nod. Look at Murdoc, king of deep thoughts.
"Japan, huh? Is everyone there sooooo incredibly lazy that they just eat fish. Raw."
A grin tweaks at the side of his mouth. "I like that."

And she'll just give him a blank look back because seriously. Comedian she is not.
Though that is soon followed by a frown and a rather violent pluck to the guitar's strings.
"Those are my people, my heritage. I would be careful what you say, Murdoc"
no subject
"You might be right about that one."
He's trying to match her new pace, but it's a less violent edge and more like a taunting, mocking echo of her plucking.
"I thought you were British."

Her own eyebrow raise is hidden under her fringe, but Noodle picks up the pace, continuing the challenge to Murdoc. Her strumming becomes faster, messier the sound all together courser.
"By adoption. I was born in Japan. Doesn't my appearance make that obvious? You've seen my family, I look nothing like them."
no subject
"I 'unno. I thought you were Chinese." He shrugs lazily and hunches over his bass. "Doesn't matter anyway, does it? You don't live in Japan so it don't really matter, eh?"
no subject
"That could be considered rude and offensive you know." Her own strumming slows and then stops, Noodle sighing. "It's still a part of me. It was my home till I was 8, I think. It's where I come from."
