This is totally the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
WHO: Sybille Matteris (Mindfang) and Vriska Serket
TONE: Stressful, awkward, and all that jazz.
RATING: PG/PG-13 for language. Potentially.
WHEN: Early evening, just before the night's dinner.
WHERE: Sybille's charms classroom.
WHAT: Vriska's great aunt just kicked the bucket, but Dumbledore has good news! The (lovely, amazing, foxy) charms teacher is in fact a distant relative of hers!!
STATUS: On going!
There were many things Sybille had learned over the course of her life, and of them the one she held closest to her heart was that when somebody mentioned a "but" after delivering some heavy news, you should be wary. Possibly afraid. But definitely wary.
So she wasn't to surprised when Dumbledore smiled at her and the little brat he had brought in, and she tried not to grimace when he asked if she would look after the girl. Sybille agreed to caring for the girl, as much as her mind screamed at her to say no. She looked horrible and unkempt, and some where deep, deep inside of her heart she pitied her.
She leaned back on her desk, looking the girl up and down. Vriska Serket, who was somehow distantly, distantly related to her.
"Soooo, brat, do you have a lot of things I'm going to need move into my place?" She's making such a wonderful impression, isn't she?

Maybe she'd have a little more luck with her than she had in the past with her other relatives. She just needed her to look after her for the next few years. How hard could that be?
Hands twisting behind her skirt she cast the professor a look and shrugged. "Is... Not much? One, two suitcases? Not much." She considered saying more, but saw no point in it.

"Well, do you have anything that needs to be picked up from your aunt's home? I'm sure I could find someone to get your things if need be."
She's assuming the girl means she only has one or two things at Hogwarts, and must have misunderstood what, exactly, the professor meant.

She smiled sweetly. "Is no trouble for you?"
no subject
She rolled her shoulders, eying the girl up and down. "I'm going to go out a limb and say I'll have to furnish your room entirely from scratch, won't I?"
And honestly, she's not looking forward to it. Sybille is abrasive at best, and while she does want to help Vriska (way, way deep down in her heart), she's not really certain how she possibly can.

"No need! I am not in need for- charity! Just give me place to sleep, is all I need from you. I am fine on my own." Curse this tongue and its limitations. Vriska crossed her arms under her chest and glowered at the professor.

She brushed her hair out of her face, eyes narrowed. This girl was a total brat. "I cannot have someone tarnishing my name because of poor dress and a poorer attitude."
no subject
Vriska huffed and suddenly looked away. "I am fine."
no subject
She rubbed her temple, trying to calm herself down. "You need a new attitude."

Looking away, eyes focused on a crack in the flooring, Vriska twisted her hands in the fabric of her skirt. "Sorry... Professor."
no subject
She was already starting to regret agreeing to take care of her.
"Well, I'll ask the Headmaster when I will be able to take you to get some new clothing. I'm sure he will understand the necessity."
