Don't want to? Too bad, you're having tea anyway!

WHO: Uncle Iroh, Feferi Peixes, Murdoc Donoghue
TONE: Friendly, awkward, delicious teeeea
RATING: PG13 at most, probably?
WHEN: A day or two after Easter Holidays
WHERE: Iroh's Office
WHAT: Iroh's wanted to have tea with some of the new Professors for a while now; especially Murdoc, since he seemed so ~unwilling~ and darn it Murdoc is going to have tea with him! And he invites Feferi along because reasons. He's especially forceful because of what happened over the journals and thinks Murdoc could use a friendly chat.
STATUS: Ongoing!

Iroh had about three different teas brewing in preparation for the evening, in case Murdoc didn't like the first or second. He was good enough with tea that he trusted at least one of the three would be enjoyable to the professor. He also had a pot of hot chocolate being made for Feferi, as he knew she liked it better than tea.

He was rather excited! It had been so long since he'd had tea with anyone who wasn't a student, and while he loved having students over for tea, it would be nice to have a fellow professor. And he wasn't taking no for an answer, either. He'd been quite insistent that Murdoc come over, and even sent a Howler- not a nasty one, as a matter of fact, it was probably the most cheerful of Howlers. Right in the great hall during breakfast.

He couldn't refuse after that, right? Especially not when Feferi was there and heard it. Nope, he was quite the cunning host when it came to making sure his invitations were accepted.

Iroh was just setting down a plate of crumpets and other treats on his table when the knock came at the door. "Oh, please come in! It's unlocked and I have my hands a little full!" he called cheerfully.

That was certainly an embarrassing message to receive with his morning tea. Murdoc has been sulking over it since he got it. He has no idea why the strange, older professor is so adamant on meeting, but with so many people aware that he had been given the invitation, it would be crass to turn it down.

So, here he is, waiting at the door and wondering why he couldn't just make up another excuse. However the threat of a hundred howlers loomed in the distance and that was even more unpleasant than an awkward evening.

He slinks in as requested and nods at Iroh. "Professor."

Feferi comes in a few minutes after her father, and she actually has a smile for him, despite her cold tone on the journals. Her long hair is back in a messy braid, and she sort of floats in. "Good evening, Iroh!" since this isn't anything to do with school, she doesn't bother with being formal. "Hi, Father!" she adds to Professor Donoghue.

She had giggled behind her hand at the incredibly polite howler that morning at breakfast. She honestly hadn't had any idea what to make of his intervention into her conversation with Professor Matteris. She appreciated it, of course. But she definitely hadn't been expecting it.

So she'd been glad when apparently Iroh had seen it too, and invited Professor Donoghue for tea, and asked Feferi to come along.

"Evenin', I wasn't aware you were comin'."

Murdoc is quietly pleased that Feferi is joining them. For one, he'd never been particularly social or good at keeping conversations flowing with others. Tea with someone he hardly knew could only end in both parties leaving feeling awkward and stupid. For another, he was enjoying gradually getting to know the daughter he didn't know he had. Eridan already hated him, but perhaps with Feferi there was a chance.

Glancing about the room, Murdoc was already overwhelmed by the smell of tea. Some of them more appealing than others, though all of them bringing quite a pleasant sensation, almost calming.

"You needn't have troubled yourself on my behalf."
