Why aren't you dancing? Are you taking a break? [The transition's so smooth.]

I don't dance, I'm just here with my little sister.

(Hehehehe) Don't worry, I'm a pro. [That's an encouraging answer.]

I don't put dancing very high on my priority list.

But it's fun!

Right now? It's getting through the night so I can go home tomorrow.

Wouldn't the night pass more easily if you were enjoying yourself?

We can't always get what we want, can we?

[It seems that someone has been spotted. Shinra's going to make his way over to Terezi as quickly as he can and enthusiastically tap her on the shoulder.]

Hi Terezi! Have you been here long?

[Now it is her turn to startle! She squeaks! She's back to normal really quickly though, and grins, turning around.]

Hey. So-so. I'm not sure, I forgot to bring a watch. (Hehehehe)

[He grins right back, emitting a quiet laugh and feeling very relieved that he's found someone he recognizes.]

I didn't bring a watch either, but I can tell you that I only got here fairly recently.
Are you having a good time? It's very loud, isn't it?

Mm. [What a perfectly not-vague response to the questions.]

Some of the music's got a good beat. Nothing I recognize though. One of the side effects of being a muggleborn, I guess! (Hehehehe)

What about yooou? Are yooou enjoying yourself? (Hehe)

Don't worry. I'm a halfblood and I'm not familiar with much of this music either. Or with music in general. But I suppose you're right. It does have a good beat.

[He smiles back at Terezi, echoing her infectious laugh.]

I don't think I've been here long enough to say for certain, but so far I'm having a much better time than I did last year!

That's nice. Did something go wrong last year?

[He frowns for a moment, contemplating the question. ]

I don't think anything necessarily went wrong. I just didn't enjoy it all that much.
In any case, this year's dance is much better.

Did you go last year? How did you find it?

Haha! Nooo, no, last year I'd had a little "incident". You may have heard of it. (Hehehe) I stayed away from crowded areas for a while.

Right! I do remember hearing about that. And I still think you were probably close to brewing something really groundbreaking.
Well, in any case, you've recovered amazingly from what I can tell!

(Hehehe) If I could figure out how to delay the reaction, I'd have a good bomb potion, at any rate.

I might get another book or two on potions or herbology. Try to figure out if there are any ingredients that would either keep the thing more stable, or figure out exactly what made it explode in the first place. I don't think it was what I added right before it blew up. Crushed snake fangs aren't supposed to be unstable like that...

[Actually, this might genuinely be a good idea. Hmmm...]
