WHAT: Jane takes a break from studying. Kind of.

Okay, looming exams? Maybe getting to Jane, just a little. So much so that she’s settled high atop the astronomy tower at night with her journal and sketchbook, half doodling, half studying, half thinking. Her mind is ever in the stars, or so Erik says. That will never change.

Even Jane realized when she needed a break though, and her textbooks, while certainly within reach, are closed and in her bag. She’s leaning back on her hands, head tipped up as the moon douses her in soft light, eyes closed.

She’s just asking to be pestered, isn’t she.

Let's suck at talking to the other gender together then, because Steve always feels like he's alone in that.

"Not thinking about anything in specific? Just spacing out?" He's always curious what someone so nice and smart like Jane thinks about when she stares at the stars.

[rosenbridges]

"Wormholes. Intergalactic travel, but mostly how science and magic fuse." She smiles. Yes Steve, this is how Jane's brain works.

"Ever since I found out about this world -- when I got my letter -- I've been trying to figure that out. I didn't believe it at first and my godfather...I'm pretty sure he still doesn't. But there's science behind it, I bet -- I just can't figure out how it works yet."

Well, that's a new train of thought for Steve, but it's an interesting concept. Though he knows he's not the person to look into it personally, he'd find it interesting to hear about, even if he didn't understand everything.

His eyebrows go up with interest as she talks, then nods. "I hadn't ever thought of that, but it's a cool idea to explore."

"Yeah. I guess it's just how my mind works. I need to know how it all goes together, and why."

Because she's curious like that.

"This is really boring to you though, huh?"

He smiles at her and shakes his head, "Not boring at all. I mean, don't expect me to understand half of it, but it's a neat concept. Definitely worth exploring."

"Oh. That's good." She settles back, pleased with that response. "I know sometimes the stuff I say just goes right in one ear and out of the other." Jane knows she can ramble on and on about science. It's just -- part of who she is, part of her passion. "So if I do that, feel free to tell me to quit."

"I can do that," he nods, though he probably won't. Too nice of a guy and all. "Sometimes, complicated things like science goes over my head, so as long as you don't mind answering the occasional questions or me having a dumb look on my face, I think this could work just fine." He understood passions and he was curious, but he knew half of what she'd say would be lost on him. He's not the sciencey type, which he was completely okay with.

"I don't mind at all." Jane grins and lifts a shoulder. "I like answering questions about this stuff. It's...I dunno. A hobby of mine." She pauses. "Studying and learning it, I mean. Not just...randomly answering questions."
