With such a large amount of students, it would be impossible for Murdoc to be anything short of flat out. He's the Slytherin Head of House and the professor of a staple class, quite a few people are relying on him and in turn, he needs to trust his staff and students will be capable. Thankfully, he's lucky enough to teach a considerable amount of bright and well mannered students. Though he doesn't know Steve well, he is a particular favourite of his simply for his work ethic.
