WHAT: Canon selves event! A seance gone awry has had its effect on the school, bringing about mental and physical changes to students and staff alike! Full details of the combinations of effects can be found here.
STATUS: Ongoing! Use whichever style you like.

[Spring brings change, but that change isn't always a good thing! Whether your character has changed entirely into their canon self, or only in part, please keep in mind that whatever they know/learn of their original canon during this event will be unable to be clearly recalled - disappearing with their past self - when the event is over. This is to avoid fourth-walling after the conclusion of the event.

Please also keep in mind that some people will not want to fourth-wall during the event! Make sure it's alright with the other player before you decide to do that. Above all, though, have fun!]

[Kurloz keeps his one hand in his pocket with the scissors, idly stroking along the blades as he follows Meulin obediently. His eyes dart around to stare at the other students and staff members, the moving paintings and stairways, all of these new sights and sounds intriguing to him. The hospital wing is almost painfully bright to him and he throws an arm up over his eyes in defense to stop his eyes from being burnt out by the sunlight.

No searing hot pain forthcoming, he lowers his arm and blinks in the brightly lit room, marvelling at how his now pink space-monkey eyes seem better accustomed to the light. Unfortunately for Meulin, both Mamma and Dolores are busy dealing with the swarms of students and staff members that are flooding the castle with their sudden identity crises.]

[The reaction did not go unnoticed and Meulin felt she had made the right choice in bringing him here. Even if Mamma and Dolores were busy, it was better to keep him somewhere where he could be watched over and kept safe.

She led him over to one of the empty beds and sat down, putting aside the sketchbook she had continued to tote around with her, determined to stay by his side until he got some proper supervision.]

How are you feeling? [She still spoke it out loud, and signed in hopes that even if she couldn't understand him, he might be able to still read hers. At the end she added the motion of lightly tapping his chest, then making an exaggerated shrugging motion]

[Staaaaaares down at her tapping his chest and then shrugging her shoulders, thinking a moment before slowly giving her a thumbs-up to indicate he's fine.

Ish.

He'll be better once he's had some private time with the scissors.]

[Sorry, buddy. You will likely not be getting any private time with those scissors because Meu isn't budging until someone else keeps watch over you. She smiles at him. For whatever reason they may not be able to 'speak' but communication will never fully be lost on them.

To pass some time she grabs her sketchbook and flips open to a blank page. She pulls out the pencil, lodged in the spiral of the sketchpad and quickly doodles a smiling chibi Kurloz.]

[He watches her doodle, raising his brows at the chibi. He points at it and gives her a curious look, wondering who it is.]

[hearnoevil]

[The question is understood and she taps Kurloz's nose]

It's you, silly! [She looks back down at it, ahh. If he didn't recognize it was him she must not have done a good job.]

[BLINKING WITH SURPRISE as he rubs his nose! He glances at the picture again then points from it to himself.]

[hearnoevil]

[She laughs. Kurloz you are being terribly adorable right now. She nods pointedly]

Yes you!

[Blinks again and stares down at the picture. Hmm... He gestures for her pencil, to see if she'll let him doodle a bit as well.]

[hearnoevil]

[She is very happy to let him have the pencil and watches him, interested and excited]

[He smiles in thanks and turns to a new page, starting on a fairly simply but detailed enough self-portrait of how he sees himself - i.e. as a troll, horns, skull makeup, sewed shut lips and all. Eventually he finishes and returns the book to her, pointing to the picture then to himself to make it apparent that the troll on the page is how he sees himself.]

[She watches, quietly and patiently. The person he draws has enough familiar traits--the outline of his jaw, the wild hair, his eyes that Meulin can see that it's himself that Kurloz is drawing. She really wouldn't have thought much of the addition of horns, or the makeup (though the stitches might have perturbed her no matter what) if not for how insistent Kurloz seems.

She blinks at him when he points to himself and then looks back down at the drawing. She lightly traces the lines he has drawn, starting with the horns and moving down to his face. Her expression is one of complete curiosity and slight wonder till she gets to the stitches which cause her to frown and furrow her brow a bit.

She looks up at Kurloz and points to the picture, then at him again as if to confirm.]

[Nodding vigorously because YAY it's getting through!]

[Meulin isn't really sure what to think. Is this how Kurloz sees himself? Or is this just how he sees himself now? She's never seen a creature that looks like that before and she liked to think she knew magical creatures pretty well.

She pauses for a moment, before pointing to his stitched lips and looking at him questioningly, a small frown on her face.]

[He nods again and makes a sewing motion over his lips to indicate it's something that needs doing.]

[Waaaaait, wait, wait, wait. Is he trying to get her to help him do this? Now she's even more certain that she should not have given him those scissors. She's still not 100% sure what he plans to do with them, but it definitely won't be any good.

She frowns and firmly gives a shake of her head.]

[Frowns and narrows his eyes, suddenly very distrusting of her.]

[That's an expression she never would have expected Kurloz to give her, ever, and it hurts more than she would care to admit.

She softens her expression, but shakes her head again.

The sketchbook is set aside and she makes a scissoring motion, much like he had done for her, then clasps her hands together as if pleading, and then holds a hand out.]

[His frown grows more pronounced and he shakes his head, pulling away from her.]

[That only cements her worries and determination to get it back. She tries once again to beseech him, following him and clasping her hands. He's going to hurt himself if she allows him to keep those scissors, she just knows it]

[Shaking his head more, he stands and backs away from her.]

[Meulin remains seated, looking sad. Even the silly cat ears she wears seem to droop to mirror her mood. If Kurloz isn't going to hand them over, there's no way she'd manage to physically get them from him.

Which means she has to result to magic.

Meulin would never use magic on Kurloz without his express permission. A summoning charm should be enough, but even so she doesn't like that it has to come to this, but the alternative is letting Kurloz keep those scissors and she feels like a moron for giving them to him to begin with.

She pulls out her wand, flicking it in the proper movements and speaks:]

Accio scissors!

[Kurloz jumps when the scissors tear out of his pocket and straight into Meulin's hand, his own hands snatching for them before they shoot out of his reach. He scowls at the girl and bares his teeth, looking downright feral and menacing for just an instant before pulling it all in again, expression blank as he tucks his hands back in his pockets and just stares down at her.]

[Crap. So much for that plan.

The way he looks at her actually makes her jerk but and fear begins to course through her, but concern for her friend overrides it still. Meulin tightens her grip on her wand and stands up, eyes never leaving Kurloz's. Where his expression is blank hers is clearly upset. What should she do? He isn't reaching for his wand which means he either doesn't have it with him, or has forgotten about it thanks to whatever spell or curse is messing with him.

Which means she has an arsenal of spells at her disposal but...

It would be easy to use a binding spell but even now, Meulin can't bring herself to raise her wand against Kurloz directly. That would be the very last resort.]

Kurloz. [Hopefully that could at least still be understood. She held out her free hand, beseechingly]

Come on. Please.

[He sneers at the hand, glaring at Meulin. She's not his Meulin at all, his Meulin would never dare try to stop him, try to go against him, and even if she did he could just use his chucklevoodoos on her to make her fucking OBEY-

But no. He doesn't have his chucklevoodoos and this isn't Meulin.

The glare fades again and he turns away from her, hands in his pockets and glancing around the infirmary in search of other bladed objects he might be able to make use of.]
