[Of course the first thing he's going to do upon finding out his parents are going away for a few days at the end of the holidays is organise a house party. In one of the rare occurrences when what he plans is actually what happens, he even has food and drink and some awesome music, and has already plied the neighbours with a bottle of wine so they'll not call the police when things inevitably get too loud.

[Jane blushes really really hard and does as he says. And she doesn't! Fall! Over!]

[He watches her slowly as she turns, nodding appreciatively.]

Not fat, and definitely cute. So I really can't see why you're worried about just one guy who might not even be worth it.

Two guys. Both're friends. So I know all the reasons why they're amazing 'nd stuff.

[And why they're too good for her.]

Guess I juss thought because Jake's ochyoo. Ochyoop. Occupied. With a girlfriend, then maybe me'n' Dirk...

[Tony just blinks at that, looking a little dumbfounded.]

Wait, so because one isn't available you might as well try the other one? Kind of starting to wonder if you're just settling for what's available, or just that desperate to have a guy. You know you don't have to be either right?

Hey, look up here at me there. You know we're still kids, right? We don't have to worry about not being lonely, that's what friends and hobbies are about. And come on, the school has a whole lot more in the way of boys than those two. I mean just in the house alone there is more than two guys.

[He smirks]

I mean three at least. I mean I'm not Jake or Dirk. So there's that.

[Jane squints. She can't quite...is he...]

[Yes, that is what she took away from that. Sorry, Tony, she's still feeling a little dramatic and drunk.]

[Tony looks surprised for a second, then realises how she could have made that connection with what he has said.]

Me? Uh, yeah sure. I like you fine enough. But I'm kind of in a relationship now, and It's really working out for me right now. Besides, there are better guys out there than me.

[Jane sighs.] I guess. They're not here helping me though.

[A bit of a pause, then.] Oh my God, I'm getting friend-zoned. [Auuughghghghghaghhdahhweioagha.]

[Tony blinks. utterly lost right now. Because as muggle savvy as he is, the concept of friendzoning is utterly beyond him.]

It's like. When you like someone and then they tell you they only want to be friends. Or they say you're "like a sister" or something.

[Jane appears to be sobering up a little, although her sadness level is increasing once again.]

Well, I'm an only child, so wouldn't know what a sister is like to think you're like one.

But yeah, I'm not doing that. Not really big on that. I mean, I'm not lying when I said you're cute. It's just that well, like I said, I'm taken.

[Jane groans into her hands.]

Why can't I just believe you? And even if I did, I'd ruin it somehow! I'm so-- so screwed up.

Because even I think this is a little crazy. This is one of those 'got to try to find out' life lessons.

[Jane nods, though she can't...quite follow everything he's saying, thanks to her head starting to feel oogy. She gets the feeling he's being nice, though. She smiles a little, both apologetic and thankful.]

I think...I need to go and sit down. But first I wanna give you a hug, because you've been awfully sweet to me and I think you've earned it. Is that okay?

[After a thought, Tony gives a nod.] Yeah sure, a hug works. Just don't go around telling everyone I'm sweet, okay?

Wouldn't wanna hurt your reputation with that heinous accusation anyway.

[Jane gives him a slightly uncoordinated hug and, after a moment, pulls away with a smile.]

It's one hundred percent true, though.

Hey, all a man is is his reputation. Just remember that.

[After the hug, which he can't help but feel almost awkward in, he straightens his shirt as a way to fidget.]

Yeah, you're starting to sound delirious now, sitting down would be a good thing.

[He gives her a small grin.]

[She grins back and, giving a little finger-wave, heads off to find a couch or something and...ultimately just finds Dirk instead.]
