[She inhales. Deep, and she holds it. For a moment she almost yells, screams even at him. She though he would at least be able to see what she had done the way she did. She thought some lingering friendship would draw him to her side so she could have someone to trust, to confide in even.
But they're not teenagers anymore. They haven't had each others backs for many years. They grew up, went there ways and now they have teenagers themselves. He's making new loyalties, and to stop and try and cling to the ghosts of a past is a foolish thing. And Charlotte Serket is not a fool in anyway.
So she swallows it. All the anger, all the hurt and frustration. Swallows it down and buries it inside her again. Her smile is polite, though false as she nods] Of course. Happy Birthday Murdoc. I hope the night goes smoothly, but I probably should be getting back, and finishing lesson plans rather then keeping you in this little corner.
