WHO: Herbert West and Tony Stark
TONE: Awkward and goofy and confusing

WHAT: Tony's love potion dose gets him fixated on a very unlikely target.
STATUS: Ongoing

Herbert barely noticed the two boys sitting at the next table over in the library. He was too busy composing a treatise on how physical fitness positively affected mental prowess (a new revelation to him, but one only had to look at the perfection that was Odinson to know it made the most sense), sucking on the end of his quill between bursts of furious writing. Anyway, it was only Rogers and Stark, and weirdly enough, a lot of his irritation at Stark lately seemed to have disappeared once he'd gotten a good look at the husky blond boy and ... well. That was probably not an appropriate thought to have in a library.

The small boy smiled to himself as he made another note, this time concerning human pheromones and their genetic advantages.

"Well, I did suggest behind the one-eyed witch statue. No one looks back there."

Tony tilts his head in a manner to look endearing. Something he learnt quick while being around socialites and reports for attention.

Instead of endearing him to Herbert, though, the look just makes him blow out a breath between pursed lips, exasperated. Yes, all right, Tony is very good looking, but that seems so practiced, so coy, nothing at all like Thor's unfeigned enthusiasm and interest in things. But still.

Pinching the bridge of his nose under his glasses, unable to believe he's really going to do this, he says, "If I let you kiss me back there, will you leave me alone after that?"

His grin grows bigger.

"Well for a little while at least, yeah. So, we're going then?"

Tony tries to keep his excitement down, but hey, he gets to kiss Herbert again, and without people looking he might even be a really fun guy to kiss.

"Five minutes," Herbert snapped, shoving his books into his bag. "Five minutes, and then you leave off and let me alone."

Tony slips his hands into his pockets and rocks back and forth on his heels a few times.

"Agreed, ready to go? Because I am."

Herbert doesn't answer, just sweeps past Tony to head out of the library, and to find the one-eyed witch. Five minutes and he can be done with this whole farce, and go back to composing his epic treatise on the virtues of one Thor Odinson.

God, he hopes Tony's crap at it.

Tony heads out beside him, with a very pleased look on his face, like the puppy who has learnt to get into the kibble bucket.

They walk for a little while, before Tony yanks him behind the one-eyed witch statue, putting him up against the wall and grins at him.

"Well, hi."

"If you say 'Fancy meeting you here', I'm going to kick you," Herbert said frostily, glaring up at Tony, not liking the way he was boxed in. "Now get it over with."

"Actually, I was just going to say 'Your lips look lonely. Would they like to meet mine?'. But then, that's kind of cheesy"

And with that he leans into him a little and kisses him again.

The kisses catches him mid-protest, but he doesn't freeze this time - he's expecting it at least. He doesn't kiss back, though, either, at least not at first. He's determined to remain aloof from this whole process, though that's probably going to prove really difficult to stick to, if not impossible.

He moves in a little closer, his tongue flicking out to tease against his lips.

Herbert makes a distressed little noise ... which parts his lips slightly.

He hums a little, in hopes to make Herbert feel less distressed as he slips his tongue into the older boys mouth to try and tease the underside of his lips.

Herbert remains impassive, for a few moments, anyway. But it's just too hard not to respond to a tongue in his mouth and finally the smaller boy relents a little, parting his lips further and kissing back, his tongue playing back with Tony's.

When he feels Herbert tilts his head into the kiss, trying to move with him. Having kissed Bruce a few times he had a bit of an idea of what to do, but the potion had made Tony want to impress Herbert, so he really wanted his inexperience to come through to him.

Herbert, on the other hand, actually has a bit more experience. He's made out with a few people. Well, two, but one of those was fairly extensively over a brief period. But frankly, he wanted to impress Tony, too, though for entirely different reasons - it would be nice to show the other boy up for once. So he reaches up, cupping the younger boy's face in his hands, and he kisses the other Ravenclaw properly with a rather extensive amount of tongue.

He can't help but blink as the hand touches his face, glancing at it before closing his eyes, quietly admitting to himself that Herbert taking charge even a little was pretty exciting for him and he makes a slight noise to let Herbert know that he was enjoying this kiss as he starts to get more enthusiastic into the kiss.

Herbert pushes his body forward a little, aggressively, internally noting the noise with a kind of vicious glee which is more of a turn on than he expected. It just feels so good to have Stark acknowledging his skill at something, even if it's nonverbal and even if it's induced by a spell or whatever. He explores the other boy's mouth with surprising deftness - Herbert may be clumsy at a lot of things, but he's a pretty decent kisser.

Feeling Herbert push against him, he does make a small gasp, as he had no reason to expect it, but soon starts to lean into the pushing. His head tilting more into the kiss and puts a hand on his hip.
Until now, all of Tony's kisses had been with Bruce, and each time Tony had taken the other boy by surprise, so kissing someone who not only expected it but kisses back has got him giddy. After all he's still only 14.

Herbert's slender, shorter body fits up rather nicely against Tony's, and a little experimental head tilting put their mouths in effective alignment, after which the older boy proceeds the kiss his roommate breathless, or at least gives it his best effort.

Finally, though, he has to break for air, and he stares up at Tony, biting the inside of his cheek.

"There," he says, though there's a slight waver in his voice. "Satisfied?"

As Herbert breaks and pulls from him, Tony keeps his hand on his hip, panting a little, his cheeks dusty with pink.

"Uh, well... Not after that, no. I want, well... More."

Tony was many things, and eager to indulge in things he enjoyed was definitely one of them. And really he was starting to wonder why he hadn't noticed Herbert and his lips a whole hell of a lot sooner.

He licked his lips hopefully.

Okay, Herbert has to admit, though he still thinks Tony is a complete prat, it's actually pretty intriguing to see the younger boy excited and rapt because of something he'd done. But the fact remains, he doesn't fancy Tony, and he's not sure it's a very good idea to continue doing this.

"You said you'd leave me alone if I did this with you ... " The lack of a firm telling off, though, is a dead-giveaway that he's a little torn about this.

"Yeah, but that's before I realised that kissing you is really great."

He starts to play with Herbert's belt loop.

"Five more minutes?"

He keeps grinning with his hopeful look, nibbling his own lip while he waits for an answer.

"Oh, so you thought it was going to be rubbish?" Herbert asks, pursing his lips in annoyance. "And that's supposed to convince me to do it again?"

"Who said anything about it being rubbish? Kissing is good, but that was great. You need to listen to what's said, not what you think is being implied sometime."

He grins a little, when did Herbert get so attractive when he pursed his lips, because really it's only bringing more focus to his lips and it really makes him want to just lean in and kiss him again.

Wait? Why just want it?

Tony doesn't answer his question so much as just lean in to kiss him again.
