Alfred would have agreed on the train thing, not because he didn't like trains, but because his butt tended to get numb after a while.
By the time the train finally pulled up, Alfred was fretting like a kid who'd gotten bad grades at school, and when Arthur finally walked out onto the platform, well...that was the equivalent of having a parent arrive to scold their child. Or at least it produced a similar effect; Alfred was still excited, but now he had butterflies, and he wasn't sure if it was a positive feeling, or if he was just terrified of screwing this up.
Maybe it was both.
He covered it up though, by pulling a grin and closing the distance between him and Arthur. He wasn't going to just wave, this was his boyfriend and he'd prefer a more tactile approach!
