It's more intellectually stimulating when there's no magical aid; it's... more fascinating, that people can write this music without it. They don't make songbirds sing to give them ideas, they have to wait for the songbirds to sing, for their inner muses to speak.
I don't see why it's so wrong to think using magic takes the fun out of it. My mother just wants me to stay in the Wizarding world no matter what, and... I'm starting to think it's because she regrets marrying a muggle.
