It didn't do much to fool her but she smiled in return and looked across to what he'd written, giving a small nod. She'd been at the hospital for over fifteen years when Sybille had warned her that they might be figuring her out, and she hadn't stayed for long enough for them to reach a conclusion. Vampires had their rights, but in the end, they'd always be second class citizens.
