[open] pop goes the snitch!
WHO: Constance Peixes and OPEN
TONE: Quidditch-y! Competitive, and perhaps with an overtone of general surprise?
RATING: G
WHEN: October 10, afternoon to early evening
WHERE: the Quidditch pitch
WHAT: Professor Peixes plays Quidditch? Who knew? And who knew she'd practice before the big teachers' match?
STATUS: Ongoing
[While she had mostly kept to herself over the Hogsmeade weekend, there had been two things Constance had been looking to acquire. One wizards' jack-in-the-box, and one Golden Snitch, to be used for Quidditch practice.
It might be an unusual combination of items to anyone else, but with a bit of magic, it turned into a rather ingenious (if she did say so herself) way to launch a real Snitch up in order to practice catching it. The plan was simple: bewitch the jack-in-the-box to open itself at random. When it opened, the Snitch would fly out. When she caught it, she would return it to the box, close the lid, and repeat the process.
And so students might see an unusual figure flying over the pitch. Her long hair was back in a French braid, but her eyes were still sharp as ever, and the new broom she was flying - the latest from Nimbus' catalog - was absolutely gorgeous.
Should anyone wish to give her a challenge, she's welcome to it, though keep in mind one thing: she's competitive. Very competitive.]
