givesyouaboner: (like we used to be when we were teenager)

If Dirk was forced to be completely honest, he'd admit that he'd had his doubts that this would happen at all. It was true that a date hadn't been discussed, but when it hadn't been mentioned at all a few days later, Dirk didn't get his hopes up. Two weeks went by and Dirk had discarded the entire thing as another empty promise he'd been given over the years by various adults. Notably those closest to him.

But when it was finally happening, Dirk forced all of that out of his mind off of that. If he didn't, he'd wind up thinking about things and brooding more. This mood hadn't been specifically directed at anyone; it was just one he couldn't shake, and one that made him dwell on all the things that bothered him the most. He couldn't do that tonight though; bro dates were supposed to be fun. Apparently tacos were supposed to be delicious. That was the thing he needed to focus on.

As soon as he got in the car, Dirk buckled his seatbelt and shifted around. The seat was comfortable enough, it was simply that being in a car was weird enough. Whenever he did go out, before all of this, he always used the public transportation. Aside from the part that he couldn't drive and he could only rely on himself most of the time, having a car in London was really just a strange concept to him.

"Are you sure you're not just buttering me up?" He raised a brow at his uncle. "Google is user friendly." The top portion of the seatbelt dug into his neck uncomfortably. The joys of currently being of small stature. He shifted again, pushing the strap behind himself. "I guess it's just a thing that happened. I'm sure I've made up for it by having things you haven't had." He paused for a moment. "Like bacalhau com todos."
