If Sybille had gotten up early, Peter had gotten up exceptionally early. Or perhaps it would be more fair to say that he hadn't even slept inside the night before. He'd been too wired for reasons, some of them to do with the bruising around his wrists and throat, and found the forest more comfortable. He'd been circling not far from the field when he noticed her and his playful instincts had taken hold.

So he waited until she was out on the field and silently swooped down on his broom and pulled to a stop behind her. It was one of the best models available, of course, but not a flashy one. He couldn't hide his grin when he spoke. "Good morning!"
