Holiday Ghost Event: Ten (or another amount) Years Later

WHAT: Due to visiting holiday ghosts, some students and staff find themselves living as their future selves. How did some of these kids and teachers turn out? Only time can tell.

[. . . Threatening the boy with no self-preservation skills. Amusement flickered over his face before he shrugged.]

Well then. You were threatening me last about trying to take my own life. This is new.

Well, I think we can both agree I was an idiot when I was your age. Naive and stupidly optimistic. Not that you'd complain.

[He gestures again for him to move.]

Not here. Start walking.

And if I refuse? You're going to what?

[Instead of doing so, he stared at Sherlock.]

Threaten whatever you're planning in private? Boring!

Be more creative, even Sebastian would figure that one out.

I'm not here to threaten you. I'm here to kill you. Maybe just horribly maim. Not sure if your death is enough. Perhaps I should leave you in agony until you bite off your own tongue in desperation.

[He remains cold and calm and emotionless.]

It's simply easier to explain away why you're dead if we make it look like an accident. Or like you did it to yourself. Bit hard that in public. But I'll finish you here as well as anywhere else. You can't really do anything about that.

Really? Why do you want me dead?

[He tilted his head a fraction of an inch.]

What did I do to you?

Nothing you will be given a chance to do. We can leave it at that.

And yes, I'm aware of the time paradoxal issues of my killing you potentially meaning I don't have a reason to kill you making all of this pointlessly futile. I honestly don't care. You deserve it either way.

Are you afraid you won't be able to do it? Why else wouldn't you tell me.

How are you going to do it? Kill me I mean.

[He was amused, almost to the point of laughing at this older Sherlock.]

I'm not afraid of anything. I just don't see the value in giving you the benefit of knowledge one way or the other.

[He flicks his wand. It's been a while since he's bothered with it. It's heavy in his hand.]

The killing curse is an easy enough. I don't need to dispatch you elegantly. Dead is dead.

Huh. Right. Makes sense.

[He went silent before moving to walk.]

And you don't think anyone will be suspicious.

Of what? Me escorting you at wand point?

Since when did I ever do anything that made sense to them?

[He rolled his neck and mumbled.]

Dumb. You're not going to tell me why you're killing me?

I would think that much would be easy to extrapolate.

[Because Jim was a threat to him alive. Loose as his own morals were, Jim's crimes against him were warranting of murder. Sherlock was afraid of him. Terrified. And the only way to make it stop was to take his chances now.]

Well, I'm sure you could understand wanting to share something you've learned before you die, then.

[He stopped again and turned to Sherlock slow enough that it was obvious he wasn't trying to attack the other, one of his books was back open and he was obviously trying to show him a passage. Someone seemed to forget they were being held at wandpoint.]

Look at this, I think this is the answer [He pointed to one of the passages, who even knows what he could be pointing to, Sherlock you need to look, could be important.]

[Sherlock really doesn't get what he's on about. So he looks.]

[He's got Sherlock's attention? Yes, yes good, perfect.]

I mean, right there, look at it? Can you believe that? It's the answer right there. Right there on the page, what kind of idiot am I?

[He tapped at a word and shifted the book so Sherlock could get an even better view, holding it up with his right hand. Still trying to figure out what he's pointing at? Good.]

I was overlooking this one little thing. I can't believe it.

[Looking real good? Because then he all but threw the open book at Sherlock's face, his left hand already moving to strike Sherlock's wrist that had his wand - only to ruin his aim. His right hand let the second book fall to the ground and procured his own wand from his robes.

He gave Sherlock little time to respond, pointing his wand at him and moving it in a certain way.]

Flipendo.

[It doesn't really do to stare at the book at this 'answer' if he doesn't know what the problem was so he doesn't bother to peer at it for long, looking at Jim over the top of the book instead. The more he insists he look with the tapping of his finger, the less inclined he is to look as Jim is obviously trying to distract him. Even for Jim, this reaction to being escorted to his death is not normal so the fact that he's planning something with this diversion is obvious.

He anticipates the book being thrown at him but the distance between them leaves very little time to react all the same. He keeps his grip steady on the wand, realizing he has very little time to react before Jim produces his own wand. He chooses the killing curse rather than a disarming spell, the first syllables barely off his lips before he's thrown back by Jim's attack.

He supposes it would have been dull had it been too easy. His skull would still rather not suffer the quick crack against old stone when the possibility to end Moriarty is the alternative.]
