[ Tipping himself back onto two legs so he could drop his own feet onto the table and cross his ankles, despite the risk of the librarian flipping a load on him, Raz crossed his arms over his stomach and simply looked up at the shadow for a long moment. Almost considering it, before his eyes dropped to Dipper. ]

You're that shitty part at the back of the psyche, weighed down by baggage and unease, that everybody has. And I mean everybody. It tells us awful things, and makes us feel like horrible people. But y'know what?

[ He grinned wide, head tipped to the side. ]

It's never true. 'cause Dipper here is a good guy. Kind of neurotic and a bit of a stickler, jeez, lighten up a bit, mate, but he's still pretty awesome. Even if, deep down, he feels like he might be bolstering himself up by helping his friends-- that's what friends do. You help each other, because you care about one another.

[The shadow frowns a little, fingers stilling their poking as Dipper looked up from his hands, surprise written over his face. He hadn't really thought they were friends...well, he only really knew Raz through Mabel and the handful of times they'd talked so he didn't know him that well.

But still...]

...You really think that?

Dipper, I don't spout shit just because I like to hear myself talk.

[ Raz arched both eyebrows at him, completely unfazed by the shadow's frown and Dipper's surprise. Maybe they weren't close friends, but Dipper had helped him more than once-- wasn't it right for him to repay the favor, as friends are wont to do? ]

We're not as close as we could be, but I still think you're my friend. Was I wrong?

[Really? Could've fooled me. Dipper reaches up to rub the back of his neck, completely ignoring the way the shadow leaned behind him, like a weight dragging him down. He glanced away before looking back at the other boy, shaking his head.]

N-no, I...I guess I just felt like I could never...I dunno.
