[Who knew the Great Hall could look like a classy club. The music is loud, the lights are all over the place and the dance floor is begging you to cut a rug.]

[Gamzee, of course, came by himself. He never has a date to any of these things, and consequently he's out on the dance floor by himself, doing the weird, wiggling, loose limbed thing he calls dancing, and most other people call barely restrained spastic flailing. Well, okay, it's not THAT bad - given a little direction, the Slytherin would actually be a decent dancer. But he seems to be hearing an entirely different beat than whatever music is actually playing, and a tendency to close his eyes means he's also kind of flailing into other people as a result.]

[Shinra is trying to find his way around the dance floor when something unceremoniously flies into the back of his head. He stumbles and takes a moment to right himself and readjust his glasses before turning around to find that oh! It's just Gamzee! ]

Hi Gamzee! Are you enjoying the dance?

[Oh, hey, it's Shinra! Clearly this means he must be danced with! So Gamzee grabs the other boy's hands and tugs him closer, pulling him into some utterly bizarre series of steps that seems to be half waltz, half crunk dancing, and all ridiculous.]

Hell motherfuckin' yes, my shiny peepered, big think sponged bro!

[Shinra is not much of a dancer, to say the least. And he has no idea of what crunk dancing is, but he follows along as well as he can! It takes him a moment to figure out exactly what the other boy is trying to say -given the loud music and Gamzee's unique way with words- but he offers him an enthusiastic grin once he does catch on.]

I'm glad to hear that! And thank-you!

[Gamzee grins back. He looks even odder than usual, in a weird mix of formal dress robes and his usual clothes - basically he has a long purple robe on, but he's left it open in the front, to display his polka-dot pants, a frilly tuxedo shirt, and a bow tie. He bumps a shoulder into Shinra in a friendly sort of way, then starts dancing around him enthusiastically.]

Where's your date, bro?

Holy backtagging, Batman!

[Don't worry, Gamzee. Shinra is in no position to judge your outfit. He only decided to come to the dance at the very last minute, so he's just wearing the same thing he wears every day, although he did make a point of fixing his tie. He smiles as Gamzee bumps into him, and turns to follow his enthusiastic dancing with his eyes. His smile falters at the question and he looks down somewhat sheepishly. ]

I don't have one, but Professor Mercer said it wasn't a requirement, so I'm not concerned.

Where is yours?

Oh, man. [Gamzee laughs, shaking his head.] Ain't no bro what wants to come with me to a dance or do a date! That ain't in the cards for this motherfucker. [dancing up against Shinra now in a friendly sort of way, kind of like having a big dog jump up on him]
