At Karkat's question, Tavros realized that he'd just been staring and that he should be doing something. Y'know, like opening the present that was in his hand. "Oh! Yeah, uh... sorry! I was just surprised," he admitted softly, letting out a small laugh. "I didn't, think you'd gotten me anything since you didn't give it to me at the, uh, party." He trailed off for a second, "You... really didn't have to get me anything, you-"

He stopped, because he'd been about to say something along the lines of 'you're already my present', but that felt like too much and he felt entirely too embarrassed to say anything like that. Even if it was true, and not just for Karkat. All of his friends were gifts! It was just especially true for Karkat, with how he'd been there so much for the Hufflepuff. "A-Anyway, yeah!
